Jenvey Linkage Solution...
Okay, for those of you that have Jenvey ITB's you know that the kit comes set up to use a cable. So, some where along the line you need to adapt the cable to the rod linkage in the chassis. Or..... here is my solution. NO cable. What I did was adapt the linkage to use rod ends and ball/socket connections which I will continue right down to the bell crank on the tranny. I lengthened the arm that pulls throttle slightly to equal the throttle pedal travel and made up a rod linkage. I am also going to replace the "wire" linkage from the motor to the trrans with a rod with rod ends on each end. This is what it look like to date.......
Here is what Jenvey wants you to hook a cable to, not thanks.... ![]() ![]() So here is what I did instead.... ![]() ![]() ![]() Comments? Cheers

What's wrong with the cable? 99% of cars have cable throttle linkages, is there some issue with binding or lack of travel on our engines? Just curious as I will need to fab something for my install, and a cable is a lot easier than solid linkages.

Nothing is wrong with the cable, but at some point you need to adapt it to rods that the car came with. This is just another solution.
Cheers

Jeff, if you need pull cables with a ball socket end, just let me know.

My throttles came with the cable. And sorcing other ones is not a problem, I just wanted to do something a little different!
Cheers

Does the "stock" cable mount use that quadrant-like thing in your first picture?
Reminds me of sailboat wheel steering to rudder stuff. I think a cable quadrant produces a constant number of degrees of rotation for a given cable travel. A lever doesn't quite do that, right? Howver, since this apparatus is full of levers, maybe that doesn't matter at all, even in this clever system. It is not a problem with other lever based gas pedal linkages. A new use for all those bell crank plates we took off our cars when we went to carbs or more. Walt |

Yes, the throttles are suppossed to use the qandrant like thing. I measured the pedal travel and adjusted the mounting points to provide the right movement. Each bank of throttles moves on the pivot arm that I mounted my rod end to. I just bypassed the cable quadrant. I am now using the cross bar only to link the two sets of throttles.
I just did this instead of fabbing a mount for the cable down on the transmission bell crank. Either way required some fabrication.... Cheers
