Converting a GT3 engine to reverse rotation?

What do I need to convert a GT3 motor to reverse rotation? I know that one of the requirements is a crankshaft with rod-journal oiling passages drilled to the opposite side of the rod throws in order to support the reversed bearing load phasing, so can you tell me if a standard GT3 crankshaft already has that (drilled on both sides)?

^That would be nice but the GT3 ring gear is not flippable. I'm not prepared to use a 915 and the 930 box only has 4 gears.

I'm not familiar with the GT-3 engine but I suspect there is a lot more involved. Things like the cam drive geometry (tensioners are on the "undriven" side of the chain) and oil pump only work for one direction.

Its quite a challenge to reverse the engine rotation on these,.....

IMHO, its FAR FAR easier to mount the transmission upside down for a mid-engined car.

Why would you want to? For a mid-engined car?

Maybe he wants counter-rotating GT3 motors for his bass blaster.

Haha. Couldn't you just put the intake on the bottom and run the headers out the decklid? :d

If I flip the trans, the output shafts would be about 5" too high. Sorry, that's not acceptable.

YTNUKLR - Yep, mid engined.

G96/96? Can you lower the engine/trans.? You can't flip the ring because it's hypoid, right? Isn't there a G50 variant you could flip the ring on(I have never worked on G50s)? Is this for a 914 or something else?

Both Ricardo & Xtrac make custom transmissions for such applications and while not cheap, they are THE best.

Aren't all the Mendeola, Hewland, Ricardo, Xtrac etc. non-syncro?

The GT1 'box is actually upside down. Again not suitable for me.
