1979 SC Can't start after rebuild

I finished the rebuild and re connected everything, and now I don't get spark.
I tested the Pulse generator from the distributor to the CDI unit (stock) and I get .2 volts. The CDI unit is getting power and it hums after trying to start. I originally thought it was the magnetic pulse generator, but I purchased a used distributor off of a running engine. During the rebuild I replaced the coil, the ignition wires, distributor cap and rotor.

Does anyone know what the voltage is suppose to be that the pulse voltage is suppose to be? What else should I check???

Thanks
dog

There is that green little wire that connects to the distributor. If it is bad, no spark...

Thanks for at least trying to help, but I have replicated that wire and I have good continuity on that green co-ax wire.

Can you list what you've checked to catch us up on where you're at?

Power at coil? I would start somewhere between CDI and coil first...

Was the CDI removed from the car for any reason? Or just unhooked wires to remove engine?

Can we assume that "don't get spark" means you pulled a plug wire, stuck a spare plug in it, laid it on a grounded part of the case, cranked the engine, and there was no spark?

If it didn't, you pulled the distributor center wire and held it near a ground and it didn't spark?

If you did, and no spark, you might try your old coil? Did it work before you went to work on the engine?

Same thing kind of happened to me.
I was sweating bullets, then I played with the plug in the left side engine compartment that Wayne suggested to disconnect, to build oil pressure, and wa la, she started right up.

Turns out, that connection is a little tricky to get in.

Mike.

Seriously, try a known good wire.

Check for spark using your timing light. Attach it as you would if your were timing. If the light blinks on and off, as you try to start, you have spark. You can try it on all 6 spark plug wires to check if you are getting spark at all plugs, if required. It's quick and easy.

The answer to my riddle was a small two wire plug on the left side just under the CDI unit that connected with a plug on the engine. I had thought it was for my Heater fan (it has the same type of plug) and so I didn't connect it. A friend said connect it and let's see if it starts, and that was it, started immediately.
