Progress
I fabbed up a bracket outta 3/16" alum in order to mount the TPS on the throttle body and I put the ECU under the driver's seat then ran the wire harness into the engine compartment.
Waiting on a fuel pressure sensor and a piece of 1/8" alum plate to use to fab up a mounting bracket for the X-Dash. Only a few more details before this project is doneSmileWavy http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335037307.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335037317.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335037326.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335037336.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335037345.jpg |

Motor & tanny ready to come back together
It's prolly been 6 years since the motor & tranny have worked together and this time they are wearing some new power personalities:)

When I went to mate the gearbox to the motor I realized I only had 1 of 4 studs that was the appropriate length:(. The hard part of putting together a jigsaw puzzle like this if finding all the right studs for each and every hole in the cases...

Gearbox on dolly
A furniture dolly works well with some 2x6 shims to allow a single person to align the gearbox and motor up & if I get the missing studs in this week I'll try to put the motor back in the car over the weekend with or without a fuel pressure sensor:p

Stage 8 CV Joint Fasteners
I ordered a set of locking CV joint bolts so I don't have to worry about them backing out once torqued.
Dan at Ideola is very customer oriented: http://garage.ideola.com/prod-Stage8.html Cheap insurance for $100.00, if you ask me;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335275163.jpg |
Nice bolt lockers. ;)
I'm assuming you found the right tranny studs in the collection of fasters I gave you? Pretty sure those didn't get lost nor used anywhere else since they are pretty large. |

McMasters has plenty of studs and I should get them tomorrow or the next day, so onward we goSmileWavy |
FYI:
I'm doing my best to keep up on my own related primary project. Hopefully I'll be whittling out some turbomachinery with the mill real soon. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1335285622.jpg While I'm shooting for something in about the 5KW range here's a commercial equivalent to what I'm making, though their's start at 30KW range and go up from there. I'm just making up for all the years that the 930 and a few other toys were consuming tons of fuel just to give me a thrill every now and then, lol.
Even now my S60R averages about 18 MPG due to my lead foot so I still waste reasonable levels of energy for the sake of my own personal fun. Then again working from home more than makes up for it since a tank of gas often lasts me a couple of weeks if I don't travel anywhere far. I must admit that the CAD, FEM, CFD and all kinds of other kinds of design stuff I'm currently working on and then getting to go downstairs and then carve it all out of metal has really given me a pleasure I haven't felt in years. I'd bet all the awesome work you have been doing on my old baby has been doing the same for you as well. ;) |

Sweet!!!!!!

Tomorrow I'll pull the IC back off the motor and work on getting the rear end of the car up high enough to roll the motor under the rear valance.
|
Oh yeah, I've got to make a bracket to hold the new electronic dash too. I'll post up some more pics tomorrow after I get some more things done.
