964 Cam setting
What is the overlap valve opening spec for timing these cams?
Is this what one would use if installing this cam in an SC or 3.2? |

Sorry for breaking in here... what is "grind #40"? Are there different 964 profile details?
I am about to do the same thing as Walt. |

Grind # 40 is WebCam's 964 cam grind. It's the same profile as a stock 964 cam.

I used 1.8 per Daugherty Racing Cams recommendation on my 3.2 with stock pistons and 964 cams.

what if one had an SC with non-stock (Euro) pistons and used the 964?

Setting cam timing so an intake valve is open 1.8mm at TDC overlap before the intake stroke with valve lash at .004" would be advancing cam timing a little from stock 964 settings and that should make a little better lower to midrange torque and probably take away a little top end power.
I'm no expert but thats how I understand it. |

A friend did 2.00 with 964 cams and JE pistons.
