Looks a bit like tilt shift effect. Very nice.

Nice ones Brock!
Is that a new camera?

We only have golden eagles around here right now, were those in Golden?

wswartzwel 09-30-2013 06:25 PM

Had to get out for a little 30 mile ride tonight after reading Shredders post.

Thanks Craig, no new camera though. Still using the D700, however the D800 muse has been calling, ever so faintly. Like vehicles and HP, resolution seems to beckon..

The shots were taken up at Lake of the Woods, Ontario, Canada. A truly amaizing number of bald eagles to be seen. Who could bother to fish when those guys were cruising overhead?? Unfortunately, I did not witness any of them diving in on their prey. Maybe next year...

My monday evenings ride partner is a pro rider, sponsored by Walmart. I told him he should have to ride a walmart bike. :)

I was lucky enough to watch an osprey dive for his meal today. Please excuse the iPhone photography, I don't carry a good camera on the kayak.

Here is the osprey.

See the splash? That was about 200 yards from me.

Any recommendations for a water/splash-proof camera to take on kayak trips? I use the iPhone 4s in a lifeproof case for point and click pictures.

Thanks,
Eric

I have taken great pictures (up to 25' deep) and had no issues with the Pentax Optio W80... had it for several years. Great little camera and not pricey at all

You gotta take a risk. However, for $550 or so (less than a new iPhone) you can get a nice Nikon or Canon refurbished unit with one halfway decent lens that would be fine in a Kayak. I know several photographers that Kayak with very expensive gear. They keep it in a dry bag and use as needed.

I use tupperware when canoeing. it will float if I turn over the canoe.

Can someone here translate from Russian?

Not a photo, not even close to moto. But I think this thing was built in Germany and although the purpose of it was no good, the engineering and durability of it speaks volumes, as well as to the persistence of Russian diesel fitters. The best part starts after minute 10.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/n_aDMqFrUV8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Edit - it is actually a Russian self propelled gun; an ISU-152. Still entertaining though.

Afraid to click on it.. your last link in the joke thread loaded my computer with a bunch of Ad crap.
