The best thing about driving a Corvair is the lack of heater, or more importantly a defroster. In the winter there was frost on both the inside and outside of the windshield.

I don't have a place to park the Cadillac right now. The garage is only so big.

...funny you say that, Brock... that thing was never accepted as a "Porsche" in Germany... throughout it's whole life! It was always called VW-Porsche... not even the 914/6 (which actually HAD a Porsche engine, instead of a VW engine) was accepted as such, when they came out with it...

That thing was brutal, I had two and I was VERY happy... sure, niggle little problems... no heater most of the time, shift-linkage was a nightmare to adjust, the bigger engines kept cracking the motor mounts... Lamp raising motors failed here and there...

BUT IT RODE LIKE A CART...

Loved that car... it seems I was one of the few

hehe... i have just one gun that i wouldnt trade for that bronco... just got it yesterday. And since this is the nonmoto picture thread, who couldn't appreciate a springfield model of 1873 carbine:

appears to have been manufactured in 1880 with some parts off of a rifle recalled from the cavalry in 1879.

Well today I handed the treasured grilling spatula over to my son. Relinquishing the control over the "outdoor cooking of meat" is not an easy task for a man... Kinda like giving away the TV remote... So I figured I would experiment with shooting some images of fire....

A mixture of charcoal and seasoned hickory.

Wrap up some mushrooms, yellow squash, some zucchini, garlic, and butter..

Time to eat.

Thanks for the offer buddy, I will consider it!

Actually i am saving the Cadillac for when I retire. I am going to get one of them light blue jump suits and a tweed hat. I will move to Casa Grande and spend my days playing shuffleboard at the club house of the gated community I live in. I will have to pint the Cadillac white, but I should blend right in.

From today. This guy was riding with us. Let's just say I had time to walk 50 yards up the road and climb up the hill a bit...

This bike was an eye-catcher:

Craig, I am trying to get a perspective on size. About how tall are the doorways on those cliff dwellings?

Maybe 3 1/2 to 4 feet tall. For perspective, a bad self portrait..

The places are especially interesting when you are the only one there for a couple hours. You start hearing voices...

The Moonhouse is so named because inside one of the interior rooms there is an Anasazi painting of all the phases of the moon. It's also very large, with approximately 40 rooms, through that door behind me there is a hallway with several rooms.

These ruins literally sat for centuries undisturbed by man until this last century, and especially the last 10 years. Once there were broken pottery pieces and artifacts laying all around, and the doors and construction was intact. Now, there are people roaming all over, stealing souvineers, vandalizing the ruins, taking a piece or two back home with them. I cringe anymore when I see a fully rigged out Escalade or other SUV (mountain bikes, towing a 4x4) prowling around, or one (or a fleet) of white 4x4 vans from some tour company or college... As they say "take only pictures and leave only footprints..."
