Zombie Apocolypse
As we were doing our Cat Rescue volunteering tonight it occurred to me.
In the event of a zombie apocalypse a PetCo is a far better choice than Walmart to stock up on supplies. Hear me out. EVERYONE is going to try and raid the supermarkets. A brick n mortar pet store is chock full of high protein provisions that have a long shelf life in a variety of flavors. Plenty of things to make weapons out of, choker chains come to mind. It'll have an in house Veterinarians office stocked with meds and other first aid supplies. Hell, if you barricade it and take over you'd even have a built in supply of fish for fresh sushi whenever you wanted.

Honestly the most in demand item will be canning lids. Jars last forever. Lids don't
aren't those that stick around in metro areas die first?? |

I can do you one better - find out if Amazon has a fulfillment center in your area. Warehouse full of *everything* - clothes, non-perishable food, tools, camping gear, books on every subject, you name it. You could restart civilization from one. Unlike Wal-mart or PetCo they're non-retail, so they're typically just a big anonymous building in a cheap industrial area. Ours is 3 miles away, next to a contractor's building supply place.

Getting to the remote bunker is going to be the biggest problem
Worried About Doomsday? You Can Rent This Bunker for $1000 Per Year Its rent is cheaper than a New York apartment, and it's fortified against the apocalypse. https://futurism.com/worried-about-doomsday-rent-bunker-1000-year ![]() Quote:
Does the pet store sell toilet paper? Toilet paper will trade like gold after the apocalypse.

Relax! You can still loot the local FedEx/UPS facility, which will have all the same stuff. The rule of the Zombie Apocalypse is "Never steal retail."

Living out on a well stocked, prepped farm in nowhereville, I consider Zombies to be the hungry city dwellers who are meandering around with outstretched hands, looking for their next meal/score.
These are the people who have nothing in the cupboards, or in the freezer at home, and after a few days, start looting/assaulting for survival. |

Have you ever walpked through the treat aisle? Pig snouts, deer antlers, duck feet, dehydrated beef trachea. Everything you need for a voodoo ritual.
