Wow Boston looking VERY strong in game two . Canes struggling big time . Too early for the fat lady to sing but she's warming up in the hallway 😁

I turned it on...down 6-0 at the start of the 3rd...

I can hear her yodeling all the way from Raleigh ;)

If I heard correctly, the Canes have not lost a home game this post season. That makes Game 3 crucial. Again, unless they stop sitting in the sin bin and they start getting better goal tending, there isn't much that the coach can do. The pressure is on big time. How many players in their locker room have experience handling it?

Should the Canes shake things up and start a different goalie for game three ? It's never just the goalies fault the team has to play good solid defense also and as already stated stay out of the penalty box . But game 3 is do or die at this point . Or stay with the goalie that got them this far and make some line changes ? This is where the coach and staff earn their pay . I'm sure the arena will be rocking with fan support .

Plus their PP is MIA. Not to diminish the Broons performance but the Canes haven't really shown up yet. Game 3 will tell. Got your broom standing by?

Da Broons are at a nearly 60% clip vs. 14% for the Canes. I can't see a sweep but
given my p-poor powers of prognostication..... Da Broons look to be in cruise control
& in good shape to punch their ticket to the dance.

The Blues better get it gear tonight or it could be a Sharks/Broons final.
I believe the B's will have home court advantage.

That will mean a few late nights for our eastern brothers.

Cheers
JB

I agree with the "dance with the one you brung" theory but, sometimes a new goalie will help break out of the mental ditch they have dug for themselves and give the opponents a new set of info as to where to shoot.

Standing by SmileWavy

As far as the Blues are concerned. One bad game doesn't normally predict doom but I have to admit they looked pretty pitiful. Win or lose, they need to look better tonight.

The Blues made a statement tonight with a dominant win.

If they could get the PP working (and not give up a shorty) it would take them to a different level. 1 for their last 25 or so with 2 scored against.

I've been a Blues fan long enough to never expect it to be easy. :)

When the sharks tied it at 2-2 I thought uh oh momentum has swung in their favor . Good to see the Blues hang tough and keep fighting for the win . The Canes need to show what they are made of or they will be heading to the closest golf course :D

and there are so many golf courses down there!:D If they go down 3-0 maybe maaaaybe they'll pull out one at home, maybe, but then Boston gets to advance at home.

I think Flat has it figured - though should be a 'goodun' tonight. Go Canes - as if that'll help!

Right now Rask is playing like a Cup goalie! Yeah it’s only halfway thru the first but Day-um!

flatbutt 05-14-2019 04:42 PM

Now it’s obvious to me that the Canes have no jump at all. 4 on 3 then 5 on 3 and nothing? Fuhgetaboudit

rfuerst911sc 05-14-2019 05:13 PM

Have you seen the commercial with a walrus in net that stops everything ? That's how Rask is playing . Unbelievable quickness and amazing glove awareness .

flatbutt 05-14-2019 05:35 PM

No but the Pastrnak Dunkin commercial made me giggle

Unfortunately, in that commercial the coach says "Duncan! No sleepeeze" Rask let in a softy but I guess as well as he's been playing I can't complain. The only problem is it let the Canes (and the fans) back into the game mentally.

Oh and, Hawk: just in case you didn't notice, "rat-man" scored another goal tonight. :p

In the meantime, it looks to me like Williams is pushing for the award for most PIMS this series. I hope he wins it!

Having two goals called back could have hurt the Broons mentally but I don't think it did. And nobody can legitimately pick Rask apart for his play tonight. The Canes had some really choice chances.

Williams may not have cost them a goal...yet...but he has cost them some fuel, PKs burn a lot of gas.

I think the first goal spoke volumes on the Canes. First of all you never, NEVER let a man linger at the top of the crease, and it was all set up by the piss poor decision to try clearing the zone by crossing the puck thru the high slot. That puck should have gone up the boards or trapped against the dasher. The Broons are just the better team. I think the fat lady is clearing her throat.

The game winning goal! :D

The Canes just can't beat the Bruins for whatever reason . I agree the Bruins are the better team . I had hoped for a better series but it's not happening .
