First car was a 914. I did a ton of work on it, top is as bought, middle is after I worked on it and bottom picture is a 944 that came several years later, but just happened to be in the picture.

my first two years of high school I had a 32 Five Window Coup with a bored and stroked flat head, ,milled and flycut heads, fenton headers and one Stromberg carb. I will have to look for the ONE black and white picture I have of it. I was running a straight front axel without brakes. It was legal then.

That brings back memories. The only other car kid in HS had a 340 Demon. I had a 73 240Z with Webers and headers. We would "race" all the time starting off on a long straight. The cars were so evenly matched in terms of hp/weight, my Z was ever so slightly quicker and by slightly I mean we could be going from 50 to 80 and look at each other side by side as my car slowly inched, inched past his.

Corners were different though. Great times!

'56 GMC pickup with a wrap around back window. Hung a Chevy front clip to get rid of that hideous front chrome monstrosity.
389 Pontiac with tri-power.... never lost a race

Very true, brakes were an option back then.

Decently speedy, but not super fast. Tons of fun and provided me with a bunch of experience working on cars.
1965 Chevy impala 2dr, 350, 4spd.

Holy cow.

One of my best friends in high school drove one very similar. His was black. Not sure of the year. I spent far too much time in that sob. I think it took Chevy wheels (he put some wheels and fat tires on the rear) and it had a shifter that had to be 4' long.

The thought of that thing made me smile and lol.
