I did not have my own car in HS, but did have my own bikes.

Had one of these.

Then one of these.

For cars my parents had a 1978 Magnum XE in red.

Then one of these.

Then the living room on wheels.

Dad always had one of these for work also (commercial flooring). His 1978 had some work and was the best sounding motor at school with the work done pouring out through the Doug Thorley headers nd dual exhaust.

Ditto. I had a small Kawasaki bike, and I frequently had access to a ‘57 Chevy belonging to my brother (one year older). He was always losing his license for one thing or another. Hahaha!

It looked like this one, except after a while my brother “customized it” and ended up getting a used replacement fender. After that, the car was known as “Blue Fender.”

1968 Impala four door. Smallish V8 with a 2 bbl. Wrecked it doing kid stuff. I did wreck a rental on business once but Chevy was the only personal car I snuffed.

1969 Opel GT 1900 senior year (73/4). $900. Worked as a machinist and paid for it unlike Chevy. Fun little car although it was tired.

1972 Chevy Vega GT. Fun car; a lot of good times in that car. I learned to drive a stick in that car.

Only real negative was for every tank of gas I needed to add a quart of oil.

1962 Chevy II Nova Station Wagon
Rebuilt and repainted it before I could drive. Wish I still had it now.

My first was a 1961 MG miget. It was a ton of fun, blue with a white racing stripe front to back. Sliding Windows but in Miami it wasn't a big deal. Blew a freeze plug so we traded it in for a 67 RS camaro which at the time was the real big deal in high school. I
thank my father for all of my early cars I had and wish I had them back.

Sweet! My first ride was a 73 Lil Hustler that my dad bought new. Migrated from that pick up to a 67 Chrysler 300. What an effen tank that was! Great backseat acreage

In high school, I had an '88 S-10 Blazer, two door with the 4.3. Actually really liked that thing.

(similar to mine...)

When I was in 8th grade, I started restoring a '62 TR4. I ended up taking night classes (on my own) at the continuing education part of the school system, in the next city over, in order to learn paint and body work. I painted the car (3 times to get it to look right) the summer before my senior year, and drove it my senior year. This was 3 cars (that I bought for $400 as a package deal on the free ad paper in town), that I made into one. I still have it...sitting in my garage right now. I rarely drive it, but it'll have a place in my garage until I die.

I hear you Mike, my ‘66 Mustang is the same.

That Chevy 4.3 was a bad bad motor. I liked it.

Probably spent more hours going around in circles (rectangles, really) on a W-4 than in a car.
