Many of I am sure have seen the new Top Gun movie trailer. Well, here is another trailer that better explains why Maverick isn’t “A Two Star Admiral”

https://youtu.be/01FkOyjC_y8
No longer is it “A life’s mystery”

You do beautiful work. You could probably get some takers on a tube & fabric repair class some weekend if you ever were interested. I know I would be willing..[emoji848]. Of course you would need to figure out a course registration fee to cover your time and any of the materials.

Fire season TFR’s
I know we’re in the middle of fire season, but this bring up a topic for GA pilots. The other day my home built Stratux paired up with my iPad and ForeFlight alerted me to a fast mover crawling up my six, at the same altitude, 5 miles out, 3 miles......1 mile[emoji51]. Actually, anything is a fast mover compared to the C-150 heavy........ So I push it over and bank left.
Several miles ahead of me (10 miles approx) I saw a tiny wisp of smoke rising up from the foothills. I have no doubt that the fast mover was probably a CDF fire bomber headed in on the smoke. So this raises the question regarding seasonal TFR’s. My ForeFlight did not indicate any data regarding a temporary TFR for fire activity. Last thing any of us would want to be is a hindrance to fire operations but to also avoid being a bug on the nose of 250 knot bomber too. I was listening to the approach frequencies and was hearing nothing regarding tanker activity. I understand that with a fire like last year’s Camp Fire, an area wide TFR’s is obvious.
Camp Fire File Photo( not the little wisp of smoke I saw)

What about the small spot fires that pop up occasionally? Anyone want to chime in on this topic? Just looking at pointers to keep is safe out there during these times, and keep us out of the grease for inadvertently busting a temporary TFR. For those that don’t live here, welcome to CA fire season.

I remember his brothers teasing him about building it in his basement in Augusta, Georgia and having to disassemble it and remove part of the basement wall to get it out. I believe he had planed it that way and did not have the wings attached, so it was not as bad as his brothers made it sound.

Heck of a crosswind! Upper left corner of the left screen shows a small arrow graphically showing the wind direction and quantifying it above the arrow. 169 knots directly across the course line. 21 degree of crab angle to hold course at 456 knots true airspeed.

Sorry for the crummy picture. - I got a little bit of flight time in this thing the other day. A first for me, I hadn’t flown anything this big before.

This is an older video but if it still doesn’t get your juices flowing, you must not have a pulse and therefore must be dead. Be sure to have your speakers on to enjoy the music.

^^^that must have been awesome. I still haven’t been able to catch a performance. I bet that the modified Dracula biplane is better looking in person.

A good read if anyone was wondering.

That book was funny. Read it years ago.
