What’s different in the social/political climate in recent years? It’s obvious to any honest person in the world that the easy availability of guns and ammo is what makes the U.S. the place where this happens every week but that’s always been the case. Why did this not happen every week in 2010 or 1988?

Your last paragraph is just propaganda, completely dishonest. The term, “mass shooting” is generally accepted to be 3 or more victims, (not 4, a completely different threshold), also your statement regarding the number and frequency in American cities is simply pulled from your ass. I’ve live down in Los Angeles for decades, the violent crime and murder rate has plummeted and I cannot recall a shooting w four or more victims in recent memory, much less on “any given night.”

More to the point, someone shooting gang rivals or their family in the ‘hood, while tragic, has zero effect on my safety or yours. It’s something you read about in the paper. Chicago is a perfectly safe city for everyone who does not live in certain neighborhoods and/or engage in certain lifestyles. Mass shootings in random public places are a different thing and are textbook cases of terrorism. I was in a Walmart yesterday, buying motor oil. The victims are complete innocents engaging in normal activities in normal, public places. I can certainly see your motivation for conflating terrorism w normal crime but it’s like trying to wrap 9/11 into overall commercial aviation safety. That dog won’t hunt.

The Walmart shooter in MS this last week was BLACK...

But he only shot a couple people so I guess he doesn't count.

LOL, oh Denis. First, don't try and persuade anyone. Try giving people facts and let them decide on their own. You haven't presented a single fact about anything. You are trying to
persuade" people that white supremist are on the rise and the bulk of "recent" mass shootings. But you haven't presented any information to back up your position. And you try and manipulate facts and omit incidents to try and make your point. I am not trying to enlighten you. Just presenting facts to dispel your claims.

You are the one with the racist post not me.

Oh yeah and you are engaging the Chandelier bulb Mr. Smarty pants.

Doesn't count TABS that was more than forty eight hours ago. Denis said "recent". He's trying to narrow down the incidents.

There were 4 shootings in the past week...

I have noticed a trend over the years that when the rhetoric and tensions build up (sic stress levels) it pushes some people over the edge into creating carnage and mayhem.. The violence acts as a tension or stress reliever in society..

You are not going to stop this wave of violence, American society is tearing itself apart.

When you celebrate Diversity you are highlighting the difference between people..you are Dividing people into groups. Then it becomes easy to make one group into the enemy, where all the blame for all that is wrong can be laid. The Jews in Germany are the prime but not exclusive example in the last century. Today the Left proclaims that white males are toxic, while some on the right point to Hispanics from south of the border as being the problem.

BO to get re elected in ealy 2012 opted for a DIVIDE AND CONQUER strategy to win. "They didn't earn it themselves, the rich should pay their fair share and it is a war on women." All designed to create division...So to blame Trump for starting this is either ignorant or disingenuous. Lets get our facts straight..

The thread is about terrorist mass shootings in the USA, not violent incidents in Walmart stores. What was the circumstance of that shooting? Post a link.

tabs, don't you think stress levels have done that for as long as man has been on this earth? Generally I think it maintained a more personal level in the past. The person at the breaking point would kill their family and friends as opposed to going to a public place.

What I see in all of these incidents is the venue isn't random. It has meaning of some sort to the perpetrator. The only two that seem unclear right now are the Virginia beach shooter and the Las Vegas shooter. I don't recall any rhyme nor reason for either so far.

No Denis WRONG AGAIN. Here I copied and pasted it for you.

"recent mass shootings what's going on???"

It has nothing to do with Terrorists. Simply recent mass shootings. Terrorist's is in your head. And you have the nerve to call me dumb, aye Mr. Pot?

. . .

Agreed - just look at how we have been collectively tearing ourselves apart by willfully becoming a nation of gluttonous pigs (even celebrating fatassedness in many instances); that right there is a sign of major, widespread, self-destructive disfunction.

We need to have better domestic terrorism laws. Right now you have to act before you violate the law. The first amendment should not be an impediment, as we have laws against threatening a public official. That's not considered protected speech.
We need laws that make posting these manifestos that incite or encourage violence that domestic terrorists post on the internet federal crimes. As it stands the best the government can do for people who are clearly a danger to society is try to get them for an illegal firearm or drug possession or a parking ticket and they get a few months in jail.

How do you define terrorism?
I define it as acts of violence that are politically motivated, like the church shooting in Charleston and the recent shooting in El Paso.

Very slippery slope.

They generally call those wars...

It was also called going Postal....the shooter at the Walmart was a disgruntled employee...

I think the LV shooter was revenge for losing a law suit?

Never the less dead is dead..and it creates an atmosphere of fear no matter the motivation.

You mean make those persons into ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE...why we could use the Secret Service sic the SS into the agents of enforcing these laws...we could even call that division of the SS the Gestapo... Ohhh yeah baby you are on to sumthin here...

Now you are being down right Hitlerian and or Stalinist...in your thinking...that was exactly their methodology...and who says you are dumb... you are a dam good Fascist..

Makes no difference how it is defined that is not the title of the thread. Read the posts and keep it in context. Denis attempted to redefine the thread to fit his narrative.

Going postal is because it was the first job related shooting. Again, in-spite of the attempt of some to try and turn this into a white supremist thing. Most of the mass shootings have a connection to the place or people involved. Some are race related, some work, some sexual preference, religion, some work, school, etc. and they are performed by all races, religions sexual orientations.

It has become the fashionable way to act out your aggression, get noticed, etc. Hopefully it becomes passé sooner rather than later.

That would result in our current prez being charged, as well as many other present and past "leaders" (not that that would be a bad thing).

Sooner or later 08-04-2019 12:01 PM

An 870, 00 buckshot loads, and an ammo pouch full of shells would deal death in a packed Wal Mart.
