As a child, I liked to watch the Indy and stock car races because of the crashes. There were some fantastic crashes and they were quite the spectacle. As an adult, I still like the crashes, especially since the cars are much safer these days. Blown tires have provided excitement this season along with the crashes. F1 has gotten boring these days with the front runners running away from the pack and making it a lapping session. The mid pack races have most of my interest. I am quite surprised that Lance Stroll is doing well. I first thought he would be an also ran because dad bought his ride, and then a team. However, he seems to be doing quite well in the Racing Point, especially with Perez as his teammate. I honestly thought Perez would be running rings around him, but I was wrong. As the owner's son, he probably gets the better car, but that won't make up for lack of talent. Lance has surprised me with that.

Listening to the announcers who have competed at that level, they placed the blame on the inexperience of the drivers involved. That's incredible to me, but yes, there are some very young drivers out there competing at "the pinnacle of motorsport", who do not have enough of this sort of restart under their belts to know how to handle them.

Listening to the announcers, that Crofty sure gets excited. I like the calm demeanor of JB, and the Scottish accent of diResta. Brundle's pit walks and interviews with celebs were funny, because either he was clueless about them, or they were clueless about the sport. Nathalie Pinkham. RAWR! Karun Chandhok loves to roll his r's.

Doesn't matter which side you are on. It's like when you go see your favorite band in concert, and they take an intermission to rant about their political cause du jour. Nobody cares. Just SUAS (shut up and sing). Stick/ball sports: SUAP. F1/motorsports: SUAD. ![]() |

Best part of the weekend though: Mick driving his dad's F2004 around. Good God...I forgot how amazing those things sounded. V10s rule... ![]() |

Either that or he's ignoring the facts of the case for the same reason. Both are the despicable acts of a weasel.

![]() I think it's been pretty tame so far, but it is to be expected when racers interject their politics into their sport and/or use it as a platform. But yeah, see post #604 (shut up and drive). ![]() |

Le Mans is this weekend. Turn on your TVs and forget F1.

One of the many fascinations with the sport has always been its politics. In the past, however, it was always F1 politics. They get juicy enough at times... Unfortunately, once the drivers and/or teams introduced "real" politics, it became part of the fabric of F1. I think we all hope it goes away and we can go back to things like why the FIA let Ferrari off so easy and refused to divulge the nature of both the infraction and their agreement. Those are the politics F1 fans devour...

Maybe F1 should hold a round at the Circuit de la Sarthe.

I like these "new" races. There are so many good tracks around, perhaps F1 could alternate tracks every year.
