I disagree. They had to fill a lot of time with no racing. A major event is real news, and it does seem reasonable that they discuss it, and show the different clips once they knew he was pretty much OK.

I see your point, but after seeing the live shot, then the overhead shot, the in car shot, then the second camera shot.....Then to see it over and over again the following days, enough. I'm glad he is safe. We all are. And Glen, I hope I never have to go waving yellow for you.

I think part of Vettle and Danny Ric's issue was that it was on the monitors in the pitlane during the Red Flag time.

I don't see how that is the broadcasters or world feed guys problem. The teams could turn off the monitors...

Wow, Russell is looking great. That car is astonishing. Hamilton has it easy.

Qualifying should be interesting today . I have no problem saying Lewis Hamilton is a skilled top tier driver . But it's obvious by the FP1/FP2 results the car is good also . Russell is a talented driver but to basically hop into a car and set fastest times out of the gate say's it all .

Why was Bottas so far off the pace ? Wrong setup ? Russell is in his head ? Mercedes conspiracy ? His career could be on the line . But qualifying is where everyone gets serious so let's see what happens .

This would be a good time for Ham to look for a new challenge, like join one of the lesser teams (Williams) or (Ferrari) and see if he could bring them some success. .

Wouldn't that be wonderful? He's had a good run.

Russell Quali P2. Its the car...

Don't get me wrong, Hammy is a great driver but this car is the real star. A large number of social media comments declare Hammy to be the GOAT. I don't subscribe to that notion. Mainly because its way too hard to compare guys that drove during different eras. Kind of like comparing Michael Jordan to Dr J and forgetting about Magic or Larry Bird or even Bill Russell.

Could this be a parting of the ways between Mercedes and Hamilton? Out of contract after the season. MB cuts costs and signs Russell. Apparently he can get it done. The Sky Sports guys thought this could be at least a discussion point and possible leverage for MB

Hamilton will be back, but his paycheck may not be as much as he wanted now. I bet the price for his signature was high, and may come down some now.

Looks like I edited my post after you saw it. Your assessment is more in line with what the announcers thought

We we're talking about this at the shop yesterday.
If Russell does really well, do they need Hambone?
We were thinking his number would approach $ 100m. Maybe with a second year option.
Russell was rumored to be out of a job a few weeks back and now he's challenging for the poll. What would Leclerc do in that car?

I got the pole sitter right but didn't think Russell would get up to speed so quick.

Should be a good show.

Romain Grosean has flown back to his home in Switzerland . Apparently after speaking with his doctors , the team and Gunther Steiner it was decided he will not be healed enough to race next weekend .

I am not his biggest fan but feel bad for him not being able to make the last race . But this now opens the opportunity for Schumacher or Mazepin to possibly run the last race as a test session for next year . Or maybe the team stays with Fittipaldi to give him extra seat time .

Congratulations to Mick Schumacher for winning the F2 championship . Wasn't a great final race for him but it was enough . Now his journey in F1 begins . Haas has stated Fittipaldi will run the last race so good for him .

Today's F1 race will be interesting . New faces in different teams and a very fast track . I hope everyone has a clean start and it's a safe race . Albon has a LOT of work to do to try and keep his seat .

That was a total **** up! They screwed BOTH drivers!

Red Bull better hire Perez. I think Racing Point were stupid for taking Vettel over him.
