Well that was a dull race, but an interesting season.

Next year with all the moves and changes it should be really interesting.

Thank you so much to everyone involved with F1 to bring us a season this year! It must have been a hell of an effort, but the fans really needed it, thank you!

Yeah, they don't seem quite so bored when it's LH pulling away from the field.

What a strange but at times exciting season and today's race ends my 20th year in F1

No championship wins this year but my consolation price is I'm now only one championship win away from having every championship position for both constructors 1st to last and drivers from 1st to last

As it should be, best team and driver won, Mercedes and Hamilton were almost unbeatable so rightfully took both top steps, well deserved Won!

Congrats on 20 years Captain!
I don't mean to pry, BUT, are you signed up for next year? Are you working on the 2022 car? I really enjoy your post's here, I think we all do, its like as Pelican's, we have our own man "on the inside".

Kudo's to F1 for making it happen too, I enjoyed the season, predictable at times, yes but also surprising as it all played out with the Constructor's Championship, first time winners and what I saw as the middle of the pack all making strides forward and that made it entertaining as a Racing Point fan.
I can't wait till next year!

Exactly. They are all huge Hamilton fans, and I guess I understand he is the home town hero. But it does get tiring.

If the internet rumors are accurate Sergio Perez will be announced as a RB driver . Supposedly within the next two weeks . Albon to stay with the team as a test driver .

Emphasis added.

Which I don't understand. He doesn't live in the UK. Has been known to skip a fan event in London. Dodges taxes in England. Gets kicked out of Wimbledon because he wouldn't comply with the dress requirements for the Royal Box on Centre Court.

Then there is the vegan and climate change stuff. He tells everyone what to do in both those areas. Which is a bit bizarre in with regard to oil consumption/burn since he drives a race car that serves no point from a climate change perspective.

There is a push on the interwebs for him to be Knighted. But the detractors say that it won't happen due to the tax stuff (I'd add that the Wimbledon thing didn't help and that Buckingham Palace are concerned that he won't act properly in the future).

I think that given half a chance, Crofty would marry LH

If Russell gets a good ride and starts winning consistently, there may be a change in "home town hero".

Let's hope so. It's a crying shame that Hulkenberg is out of F1. (Who, BTW, finished ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in the driver's standings after only doing TWO races and lists his team as "Force India".)

Future predictions:

1) Verstappen wins a WDC the season after Hamilton retires.

2) Mick Schumacher turns out to be another Bruno Senna or Michael Andretti or a hundred other relatives of former F1 champions that didn't pan out.

3) Red Bull have a Renault engine again next season.

And for the real crazy prediction:

4) Hamilton wins the WDC if he doesn't retire.

Hamilton wants all the records, so he will not retire unless Mercedes decided they don't need a 100 million dollar (or more) driver. Offer him the same salary as George Russel. Take it or leave it, how much do you want to win? Mercedes is the clear choice if he wants to win.

I really did not care for Verstappen when he first started. Now I have to admit I think he is the best driver of them all. He has matured, and gotten a lot better.

Hamilton will be back for one more year, and retire at the end of 2021.

Russell being a Mercedes driver makes him a natural successor for whichever current Mercedes driver leaves the team . Bottas only has a contract for next year and who knows how long of a contract is being negotiated with Hamilton . First one out Russell gets his shot .

I am not expecting greatness right away with Mick Schumacher . But I think he has what it takes to perform in F1 . The next year with Haas will be a learning adventure with a car that is behind the curve . As long as he can get consistent laps and the car slowly improves that will be a milestone . In my mind he has to prove over the next 2-3 years he has what it takes to be promoted to Ferrari .

I think Perez or Hulkenberg would be a great addition to Red Bull , either can perform at a high level and be consistent . If RB is going to win a constructors championship they need consistent points from both cars . And that has to start with the first race not halfway through the season .

To me Alphau Tauri was a surprise team this year . They showed good pace and much more consistent finishes which speaks well for them in the future .

As for me, Nikita "from Russia with love" Mazepin has already worn out his welcome.
I think F1 does not need him, just because daddy is loaded doesn't mean he's the right guy for a seat in F1.

Another thought, I never was a fan of Alonso, but his laps in his old Renault was
really something, The sound and the speed was a joy to behold.

Yep. This was the sound I fell in love with at Hockenheim in 2002. It just screams

Turn up the volume
