Another Genius Pit Bull Owner

https://komonews.com/news/local/man-facing-charges-after-high-speed-chase-on-i-5-with-pit-bull-in-drivers-seat

A Washington state man was arrested Sunday following a high speed chase on Interstate 5 in which the suspect's pet pit bull may have been driving the vehicle during part of the incident, authorities said.

Authorities have not publicly identified the 51-year-old man who is from Lakewood but he is facing several charges, including DUI, reckless driving, hit-and-run and felony eluding, the Washington State Patrol said. It was not immediately clear where he was being held or if bond has been set in the case.

The pursuit began in south King County and wound up in north Snohomish County before the suspect and dog were stopped.

According to troopers, the man was driving a 1996 Buick when he allegedly struck two vehicles at the Boeing Access exit in Seattle shortly before 1 p.m.

The driver fled north on I-5 and was spotted by a Department of Transportation worker shortly after 1 p.m. at the Snohomish River Bridge near Mile Marker 195.

Officials said the vehicle was traveling over 100 miles per hour when troopers began pursuing it around the Stanwood/Bryant Road exit.

The driver left the freeway and drove onto nearby Centennial Trail.

The pursuit ended at Kackman Road and Grandview Trail.

Troopers said the man told them he was teaching his dog how to drive and the pit bull was found in the driver's seat while the man was steering the driving wheel.

It was not clear if the pit bull would be charged in connection with the incident.

As if these morons and their dogs aren't dangerous enough...

I’ve said for a long time it’s not the dogs themselves, it’s the idiots they disproportionately attract.

For every well-to-do, responsible, caring owner that takes the time to get their dog obedience trained and gives them the care and attention they need, how many low-rent losers are there that bought their “dawg” as a fashion accessory to complete their wanna-be badass look? Or how many (worse still) want them for “protection” and WANT them to be aggressive and intimidating? (I got news for you there bubba, not too many people are looking to break into your 1978 pickup and steal your radio or into your apartment to steal your collection of 90s “bad boy club” t-shirts).

Unfortunately whenever there’s any kind of story about three dogs (even if it’s just driving instead of mauling someone’s kid) it’s usually the dog who gets the needle and the owner gets a slap on the wrist and is out at some puppy mill buying another within a week.

Pit bull owners... 🙄 Good thing the guy didn’t own a mustang...

This was very close to me, and the trail he ended up on was one I had been bike riding on with my 5 year old earlier in the day.
Stanwood/Bryant Road is a fun road in the dry. Also where my FIL took out a deer resulting my 'new' Harley.

This part is classic: It was not clear if the pit bull would be charged in connection with the incident.

Presumed to be.

The 'suspect' was picked up at the same place and time although the shelter doesn't make the connection to the crime.

My sister in-law and young lab were attacked by a pit bull last weekend. The pit bull was being walked by a 12 yr old girl while her parents casually walked behind her. Once the pit bull saw my sister in law with her lab- The pitbull had an easy time getting loose and attacking them. They were on opposites sides of the street. What were these parents thinking

Being of German ancestry I know my daschund could wheel a car like nobodies business but reaching the peddles has been an issue . Some people shouldn't be parents ........ some people shouldn't be dog owners .
