What did they think was going to happen? Was Kenneth Copeland going to come in and blow away the virus with his Jesus breath? It's like a pandemic of stupid.
Exactly

LOL ... thread's still here.

Danish Mask Study: No Benefit

Published: November 18, 2020

The Danish randomized controlled trial on the real-world efficacy of face masks against coronavirus infection – the first of its kind – has now been published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. As expected, the trial found no statistically significant benefit of wearing a face mask. The study used “high-quality surgical masks with a filtration rate of 98%”.

For political reasons, three major journals had previously refused to publish the Danish study.

Meanwhile, US researcher Yinon Weiss has updated his charts on mask mandates and coronavirus infections in various countries and US states. The charts indicate that mask mandates have made no difference, or may even have been counterproductive.

People who want to avoid a coronavirus infection must avoid situations in which they can get infected. If they cannot avoid such situations, and if they belong to a high-risk group, they should discuss prophylactic and early treatment options with their doctor, which according to international studies may reduce the risk of severe disease and hospitalization by up to 90%.

The Danish study: Effectiveness of Adding a Mask Recommendation to Other Public Health Measures to Prevent SARS-CoV-2 Infection in Danish Mask Wearers. A Randomized Controlled Trial. AIM 2020.

From the link in your report. Hardly conclusive

Inconclusive results, missing data, variable adherence, patient-reported findings on home tests, no blinding, and no assessment of whether masks could decrease disease transmission from mask wearers to others.

The findings, however, should not be used to conclude that a recommendation for everyone to wear masks in the community would not be effective in reducing SARS-CoV-2 infections, because the trial did not test the role of masks in source control of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

This means that study participants' exposure was overwhelmingly to persons not wearing masks.

Funny how all of the things that lockdowns, masks, and social distancing were supposed to accomplish have been a total failure and yet some of you still fearfully cling to them with all your might. Funny how the curves for places that were locked down and places that were free look pretty damn similar. But feel free to hide inside, I personally can’t wait to spend my summer at the lake in MO where freedom still exists. Just like last summer. Btw I’m an “essential worker” which I think makes me infallible, right? At least that’s what social media will teach you, how brave I am to be going to the office every day Maybe I need to make some TikTok videos to reinforce my narcissism?

Or maybe, you could grow some and go work in the trenches with all the front line workers.

Seems to me Markus mentioned that Sweden's numbers are skewed by their MENA immigrant population, making comparison to neighbors a bit misleading

Funny enough, Sweden has just decided to stop all movement from Norway as they are experiencing a flare-up of problematic UK-strain of Covid. Not too long ago, it was other way around.

More likely “front line workers” aren’t trying to be heroic - merely keep themselves employed and / or keep their healthcare.

All the same I’m glad they’re still out there keeping some of what’s left of our society going.

I’ve gone to work every day during this entire charade, interacting with people from all over the USA and Europe. I’ve travelled regionally to the best of my ability including to neighboring states with little to no restrictions. My three kids have been in school (mostly) and still playing sports, participating in activities, and interacting with friends. I have five members of my immediate family that are patient facing healthcare workers, including one who had mild symptoms and tested positive for CV. All of them over the last year have had hours cut or been furloughed due to the “health emergency”. They think the reaction to CV has been 100% politically motivated.

What’s your story?

If 100% politically motivated, why hasn't it all "gone away" when Biden was sworn in and why isn't it a US only issue?

First, the entire world has it so politically motivated seems like a bit of a stretch. But even if it were, I know, I know, but even if it were, I thought it was supposed to disappear on November 4th. Instead there's a new strain that is more contagious.

I'm not sure how even you Qurious guys you can reconcile that.

You didn’t answer my question Bob. Which typically means you don’t have a response. Don’t try to call somebody out if you can’t back it up.

Because keeping it around continues to give them control over others.

Perhaps you haven't noticed but one thing politicians cannot get enough of is control over others.

Yeah, he hates that you (and 99% of everyone) walk around with a functioning immune system. And not living in fear must really piss him off.

Can someone explain exactly how COVID reaction was politically motivated?
Exactly who was behind it, and what was their political goal?

Who exactly is behind all this? Obama?
Did the WHO or CDC conspire to make COVID affect the politics?
Was Faucci some kind of illuminati free mason Bill Gates mind controller used to affect politics?
