No doubt he is a great driver, and he does not have crashes during practice or qualifying like even Botas has had. He always seems to bring the car back. And then only Hamilton can have a tire explode on the last lap and still drive it to the finish line for a win. The car mechanical problems are almost always on Botas, even when they swap chassis. When he takes out Max, and damages his car, he has time for repairs before the race restarts. Beating a really great driver is hard enough, but the luck of Lewis is impossible to beat.

The next issue is the budget cap... That's now 2 races in a row Redbull get a car wiped out, on top of engine damage that will cause penalties sooner. The are no provisions in the rules for replacemenbt engines or $$ if you get wiped out through no fault of your own...
The cost has probably been exagerated by Horner but he said something like $1.8 Mil total which is an issue under a cap... Thats money they can't spend on a rear wing... There needs to be new rules about either letting teams spend that money when they get tagged accidentally, or, more fun, taking that $$$ from the guilty team. I'd love to see Toto's face if he had to pay for the Bottas damage... Forgot to mention, incredible that the one time Williams is in the points, Latifi pips Russell... I bet that's why he was crying, more than joy ;-) It's Ok he's driving for Mercedes next year for sure... Last edited by Deschodt; 08-03-2021 at 01:13 PM.. |

Sucks for Vettle. Is it his fault he didn't have enough fuel left over to test? I know, rules are rules. Seems pretty harsh. But of course it allows Hammy to move up and get more points.

No joy over a clearly enforceable F1 rule? We should be thankful.

According to the Aston Martin team, the transfer pump is faulty, and that is why they can't extract the fuel. They say there is the correct amount still in the tank. That means the issue is whether the rule is there to be a pump testing rule, or a fuel measuring rule. If the latter, then the team should be allowed to replace the pump so that the test can be run.

I was and guess still am a Jacques Villeneuve fan but some crazy crap comes out of his mouth but...
Lance’s driving has been especially good considering he’s the epitome of pay to play. I imagine his father would be thrilled if Lance was offered a seat at Mercedes.

Seb lists all F1 champions. I think this is pretty impressive.

That is impressive, and I honestly am impressed.
My grandfather could do that with the World Series, and tell you the statistics of the pitcher and who the pitcher was on ever game of the World Series, for just about any year. Grandpa was a total baseball fan. Grandpa had polio affect his left and dominate hand at as a young adult, and never could play the game.

Late to the party, but really enjoying F1Tv !
I decide to kill my $65 a mo Youtube TV and just piecemeal... I got dicovery+, Disney+ for kids, and F1 Tv.. total $30 a month or so.. I love F1 Tv. Access to all the sessions live or replay, gotta see if that gets me off the "crofty" regime, hopefully so. Tons of extra shows, interviews, before and after reports, Will buxton galore, tech talks, team manager conferences, all available.. And as bonus, Porsche Supercup ! Oh yeah... The thing now works on my TV, so it's super nice (plus all the back catalog). I'll cancel in winter when nothing happens... Cheap... All I pay for now is internet, netflix and those 3 apps... Cable andyoutube TV stqrted cheap but were getting more expensive each month. Recommended.. |

Just watched the Hungary race tonight. Besides the great on-track action, it was really nice to have Nico as a commentator.
