It doesn't matter how you feel, Island, it is perfectly legal to have the requirement. It has been legal for years and it isn't going to change. Unless we want to restrict business ownership even further.

Yes, you can take it to absurd extremes if all you want to do is win an argument.

Oh, I know.

But this thread is not about setting policy.

It's about thinking this thru.

But wearing two masks is not extreme?

Even the one mask did diddly squat, so why not double that with TWO masks... diddly diddly squat squat

People without covid.

I was reusing your sentence with a change to the variables.

Have you notices the "rights" that certain groups now demand? That said, yes, I was taking it to an extreme to point out that my safety is not a reason to compel someone else to take a vaccine they don't want. At some point, civil liberty has to trump (can I say "trump" without triggering anyone?) government or employer over-reach.
Freedom of speech ends with shouting "movie" in a crowded fire house (or something like that) the trick is in determining when enough is too much.

Your soap box is getting very old and rickety. You should try yoga or some herbal tea and calm down.

You straw-man what I've said and then claim I'm the one being silly. - Got it.

Why not get the vaccine yourself, rather than trying to make your fear someone else's problem?

Lot's of professions require a urine test and usually for a good reason, this waitress situation is more like that, than a 'cilvil liberties issue'. Her employment potential is not limited at all, she could probably go to a restaurant down the street where they don't care about 'stinking vaccines' and get a job there.
There is no reason to force the population though, Darwin will eventually take care of those who don't utilize the benefits of vaccines, anyone remember measles 2017 ?

Tough call. I know some people who are "vaccine sceptic" (which more often than not often correlate with lack of education).

For me, they can be as "sceptic" as they want to, as long as they do not hurt someone else. Unfortunately, they are also likely to end up taking hospital bed from somebody who needs it if they catch Covid, so their scepticism is hurting others as well.

We did not exterminate polio, measles and smallpox by listening to Yoga teachers.

So yeah, there should be repercussions. I agree.

Alcohol consumption is already restricted in most jobs. Pilots to fork lift operators and truck drivers that are smart don't have a glass of wine with lunch, and can be fired for doing so. And they don't have a snoot full when they report to work, or they sure are not supposed to.

Alcohol is legal on a federal level, and in every state, even a dry county. I know of a company that drug tests employees at random regularly. Excessive alcohol consumption shows up on the tests. They can and do fire employees that drink too much, or any positives on illegal drugs. They have a smoke free campus, so the smokers have to walk to past the boundary of the property to smoke.

I have no idea what their vaccine policy is.
