I had a friend, Harold Ottaway, (used to own Joyland Park in Wichita) who was a farm antique collector. Crusty old dude and very wealthy. You would have thought he was being robbed by Billy the Kid. "I just paid $300 for a hog oiler but I'll be god damned if I'll pay 15 cents for a slice of tomato."
That was 30 years ago and I still remember. I've met some real characters in this life.

Diesel is cheaper than kerosene. It's just a water proof vehicle for carrying the insecticide.
