I just read it was reported that the homeowner was having water heater problems. Water doesn’t explode, so it has to be gas.
There were two or three people in the house at the time. If it was the gas to the water heater leaking, it makes you wonder how long the problem was going on. The gas sinks to the ground, which is why water heaters are raised at least 18 inches above the ground. How does enough gas accumulate to explode? Maybe the water heater was not working but the gas kept running and the source of the ignition with something else? Seems like you would smell it. Tooth implant update:
They got the broken piece out. The implant is solid in her jaw, not loose. However, the doc was concerned about bone loss around the implant, so he added some bone graft material to the area and stitched up her gum. That's got to sit for 4 months, and then he's going to check it again. If the graft works and the jawbone is built up to his satisfaction, he'll put the stud or post back in. If not, he will have to remove the implant, put in more bone graft material, wait for it to all heal again, and then start over. Someone asked if this repair was free. No, not a chance. I would have tried JB Weld. |

The surgeon told me to no eat anything solid for a day at least, and suggested ice cream with no chocolate chips or nuts or additives. Just straight vanilla or chocolate. Yesterday I stopped by the hardware store for two items: self adhesive strips for the tub and a hitch pin for the drawbar of the tractor. I had a WTF moment when I looked at the slip. The steel hitch pin, with a pivoting handle on top and a retaining pin in the bottom, captured by a light chain, was$8.99.
A pack of 8 self adhesive non skid strips in a cardboard sleeve was$10.99. On the surface, you might say: safety costs. On the other hand, you'd better not have your loaded manure spreader come loose and head on to a family in their big RV. How in the heck can 8 pieces of plastic cost 20% more than an 8 inch steel pin? I just shook my head. Best Les

I bought 2 things this week:
1 new tire for my gravel bike. Kenda Flintridge Pro GCT Bike Tire, 700 x 35, Blackwall, in case you're wondering. $60.00 1 Rivnut setting tool, metric and imperial with 80 or so steel rivnuts. (max size M10) $33.00 I had the same thought you did - 'Seems to be a discrepancy'.

I'm thinking that this pilot will be grounded. Isn't there a way to shut the engines down prior to ejecting from the ground?

back in the late 80s in high school i worked at a marina that sold fountains. the 3 owners of the place each had i think it was called the 42’ lighting. we sold dozens of them in all sizes. for a high school kid those boats made a huge impression on me. seeing one of them get up on plane was always a thrill…and the sound!

I've seen Albert Salmi in countless TV shows and movies. Big time character actor from 1955-1989. I didn't realize that he murdered his wife, then killed himself in 1990.
