an obscenely large contingent on the Left is obscenely afraid of the China virus.

So obscenely afraid, that they will be obscenely afraid of non-vaccinated, even after they have been vaccinated.

Yes, EUA=Experimental

Why is there no option to be tested for antibodies for people who have already had SARS 2?

Vaccinated people have a valid reason to be concerned about unvaccinated people being around them. The vaccine isn't some magic forcefield that prevents infection. If an unvaccinated person is carrying Covid and is in close proximity to a vaccinated person, the vaccinated person can get covid. The question becomes, how bad does it get for the vaccinated person.

I'm not afraid of the unvaccinated.

Natural selection should address a chunk of that.

Hopefully an obscenely large chunk.

I'd say it was nice knowing you but that'd be a lie.

Why so much anger stomachmonkey?

Do you have an opinion on antibody testing as an adjunct to vaccination? Natve immunity is generally accepted as superior to vaccination for previous viral infections.

I was at a dinner the other night in somewhat mixed company. CV19 and vaccines came up in discussion. The most virulent toward anti-vaxxers was a trumper. Wish they would all get covid and die was said. Everyone agreed. Interesting data point I think.

I believe a vaccinated person can contract and carry the delta variant, but generally don’t get seriously ill from it. Even if they don’t get seriously ill themselves they can infect others.
At this point I’m ready to give up on the anti-vaxers and let natural selection take its toll. My brother is one of them. I would hate to see him suffer, but damn, you can’t fix stubborn. It’s like the story about the guy in the flood.

No anger.

I'm just pragmatic.

To the contrary on that, A very good friend of mine who is one of the worst Liberals I know and absolutely despises Trump, is also the most ardent anti-covid vaxxer I've met. she is also a surgical nurse in one of our busiest hospitals. She also states that there is a big push back among a lot of heatlhcare workers against the vaccine.

Very good question. If you can provide a titer for one of the normal school vaccines you don't have to get another round.

One reason is that the antibodies do not seem to stay in your body very long after a bout of COVID-19. Testing people for antibodies, (which even if present may not be there in a week or a month), is not a practical or workable solution for preventing the spread of this virus.

Anyone with a modicum of Public Health knowledge would not need this explained. Vaccines are the only way to defeat this.

Oh, it’s already happening in places with low vaccination numbers. There are starting to be some vaccine converts from what I’m reading, however, when people see their friends and family drop dead around them from a disease that now has an effective vaccine.

No ****ing way. They are just beginning to understand the health downsides that will arise from these vaccines, what I am hearing is not good news for anybody that took one. It goes far beyond what the average person thanks are the complications, both in number and in effect.

There’s absolutely no way governments or private businesses should be able to force people to take these. Frankly, I’m hoping someone initiates legal action in that direction soon, before too many people are browbeaten into taking them, to their own detriment.

Of what? That antibodies from having COVID-19 are temporary and cannot be counted on to stay in your body? Yes, I’m sure. Maybe do the 21st century equivalent of cracking a book sometime and research it online. Be careful of “news sites” that have Trump ads, though.

As I’ve mentioned here before, several members of my family have had the virus, 100%, not the “I think I had it back in 2019” stories. They have all gotten vaccinated as well because they are smart and listen to informed medical professionals as opposed to idiots on some car forum.

Not one person has been forced. The fear is all in your head.

Amazing you have such an inside line on the massive negative effects of the vaccine that they have managed to keep secret despite the hundreds of millions vaccinated around the world suffering so terribly. Probably billions now.

Ok, start by telling us who “they” are. Because it’s not researchers at any major medical school or teaching hospital, that’s for fking sure. Are there lots of “Trump won” banner ads on the sites? That’s a dead giveaway.

I am strongly pro vax. I agree w/ wd's sentiments regarding natural selection. But I think mandating vax is abhorrent.
OTOH, I have no problem w/ the gov saying no civil privileges-ie public education, mass transit, dining out, whatever for the unvaxed.

My oldest son was forced to take one, if he wanted to remain employed.

Every day this week, some idiot politician or another has announced mandatory vaccination programs for some subset of the population. Maybe you’ve missed that news.

There’s plenty of information out there regarding the side effects and I can promise you that they are just beginning to understand the mechanisms underlying them. You won’t see it reported often in the mainstream media, because they’re pushing a political agenda and they don’t give two ****s about the facts. I happen to have immediate family members that have been involved in Covid related research since this began, at one of the major hospitals where I used to live. I’ll probably hear things you don’t, but that doesn’t surprise me because you’re one of the least well-informed idiots on the forum.

If I were to give you a hint, I’d start researching clotting in the very small capillaries in your body, particularly in your lungs.

Just to be clear, I’m not talking about large clots, like those that might contribute to something like a stroke. I’m talking about damage to the capillary walls on the microscopic level, something that won’t show up well with radiology and is affectively something that you cannot fix.
