I agree. I've known some folks that were good people and pulled themselves up from horrible situations. There are also folks that turn out like crap despite having what appears to be great nurture prospects.

I do think nurture comes into play most of the time (average folks being average), but I also think that nature can absolutely crush whatever nurture is available (good or bad).

I take exception to the idea that all human life is sacrosanct.

Feral humans such as the one in the video are of absolutely no value or benefit to society, or to humanity. Indeed their impact to the world is wholly and completely negative, and society should view and treat them as such.

Initially, I'm open to the idea that folks can change for the better (or worse), but at some point, it seems that change for the better is highly unlikely, and in the process of hoping for that change, that person is going to adversely impact many, many lives. Yes, some people are effectively beyond saving.

Still, I think the sentiment that beatnavy has is a good principle. At some point, most folks are probably "savable." If it were possible to save all of the folks that are "nurtured" the wrong direction, we then may be left with few enough that are purely "nature" problems.

Never taking any human life should be a goal for all of us, but being prepared to take a human life if necessary should be hand in hand with the goal of never having to.

I agree. This thug should have been put down like a rabid dog long ago. How many good people did he harm physically and financially and emotionally while he was alive? He deserved to be punished for his crimes. No one doubts he would continue his deadly criminal ways if left alive.

I don't think anyone is arguing that the dirtbag reaped what he sowed. I am not saying that he didn't deserve to be punished. I am (and think others are) saying is that it is sad that soul spends eternity in Hell.

Better this than to go to jail, get out again, break into some 70 year old woman's house, rape her, kill her and her two golden retrievers and burn her house down.

That just happened last week to one of my brother's girlfriend's best friends
