Take it down....now...for your sake.
It is unredacted. There may be and will be company policies on the 439th page which prohibit sharing company records. (If there isn't already a half dozen state laws already. i.e. "expectation of privacy" blah blah) We get it. That guy is a potential hot potato and a big future liability to your company, probably best suited for digging outside alone with a rubber shovel under the towers. He could also be reformed and really trying to get back to a normal life but doesn't know how, and is depressed after hearing repeat 'no' so many times. The dress and mannerism doesn't indicate that offhand. Book-vs-cover thing. His cover reads a history of very bad things. Teardrop tattoos equal a murder. Counseling and a positive and viable lifestyle game plan to look forward to is a huge lift up to some people who have given up after being raised from birth among trash and adapted to that. But that is not your problem. Getting rid of the tats and covering up should be something he already learned. It's really in the individual. He could be pissed that he has to spend so much time collecting rejection notices for his P.O. so he can get back to the welfare checks, xbox, mota, and chilling with homies. Quote:
Your company should write in a no-tat or limited-tat policy for the future.

Not to be alarmist, but that second photo could be a 'look around' and there are a number of smash-n-grabs in the state.
Does the company have a sufficient emergency protocol in place? Emergency alarms? Locked door and escape plan policy? Employees bringing in cash and jewelry? Sufficient 24/7 camera and overnight alarm system? Talk to insurance about it and get confirmation. Being proactive is a good thing.

A temp employment agency sent him.... WTF? Whaddaya wanna bet that your HR idiot has a kickback scheme going on with the Thugs-'R-Us agency.... unbelievable
.Don't know where you fit on the org chart, but the owner you mentioned earlier should be handling this matter imo.... starting with HR and looking into that relationship with the temp agency. Good luck! Last edited by KFC911; 12-11-2021 at 12:49 PM.. |

Great read by Malcom Gladwell - Blink (NOT as in 182) We’re all born with a “gut” some don’t know how to, or care to, use it.

Why is this even being discussed? Tattoos are one thing but gang related stuff?
![]() This guy will be representing your company and some thing are not negotiable. If it was my company he wouldn't even get in the door.

With gang tats ide wanna make sure he left the gang before hiring.
And people should be able to change their way. Leave and work. Ms 13 face tats.. ide mention we cant handle gang member ship and gang tats in yhe workplace. But if you really left that life. Well help you move on and get tats lasered off. No active gang banger will do that. |

If he'd left the life he could have removed the tattoos (gang related) before applying for the job.
- He's an adult and made his own choices. Not everything is "your" problem. Why make it so?

There's a cost involved to tattoo removal, that for people in that layer of society , might not be affordable. And people that jump in a gang, are typically not an adult when they do join. It's not all black and white like you would make it sound. I do agree that there are consequences, and anybody looking to hire should not be blind to those problems. But you could be smart about it, and you might get some good people who want to redeem their past mistakes. Despite the tats that they might not be able to remove due to cost. Is it a red flag YES Are you likely going to run into problem with a majority of those folks YES Are all of them 100% lost causes NO Should you discard all people who made mistakes in their youth?? How many on the board here, have been in trouble with something at some point in their life? I know I have been. Not gangs, not violence, but at 17 , I was in Juvi for a good reason Was it my fault? I didn't choose my own parents, and they way they raised me (or lack there off) I'm sure many of these kids that join gangs, didn't choose their own parents, often single mums, often dead gang fathers, they didn't choose their location of being raised either. Not every mistake is a conscience choice for the entire future of ones life. If anything, You might actually do something good for society, help somebody change his life for the better, and get a loyal employee for it.. Somebody who will think the world of you and work his ass off to thank you for the break you gave him.

I would not hire anyone who appeared to have gang tats and I would remove any contractors who appeared to be gang related. This is a big reason why you must do in person interviews.
I manage a large machine shop so the chances are real of me being in that position but fortunately I haven’t had to deal with it. Yet. I have been in other large shops that had gang signs drawn inside the building and I really wondered how they were running their shop. Another reason I make sure I put my eyes on every inch of the building on a regular basis.

Graffiti the inside of the building....
HR fuched up twice and instead of saying sorry and it won't happen again. She blames you. Calls you racist. I would give her a week and terminate for performance.... or put her on the production line. She is cancer....

HR people can be problematic guys.
Often in a large corp they spend a lot of time making sure the "essential". I've always done my best to avoid them.

People generally hire people that reflect their type of people and businesses. I don't care what flavor your are, I Don't want someone who looks like a felon representing my business.

Bigger problems are the bozo in HR and any temp employment agency that would send someone like that to their client .... smells rotten. Cancerous indeed.

Actually the biggest problem is the bozo loser owner. Clearly doesn't understand his responsibilty to defend and protect his feifdom. Doesn't deserve it, will lmao and raise my champagne glass if the operation goes tits up. Can't stand bozo owners, have zero compassion for people working for a loser.

Back in the good ol days of an oil boom we needed to hire some people. The oil field payed real well, but it was not for everyone. Long before the internet we put an ad in the newspaper for help wanted. Yea, that long ago. Anyway the ONLY phone calls we got all started off with "Well, I is presently incarcerated, but I be gettn out Friday....." and we just declined them.
Only after the oil boom went bust did we have people actually send in resumes and hire some help.
