So many great players on the '85 team.

Yes, Art really screwed Cleveland. My friend owned the Brown's newspaper and he was supportive of Modell. I wasn't, and we had some real "discussions" over it.

Me: Modell's fault. Baltimore gave him a bigger welfare check and he abandoned his own home town for the $$$.
Rick: Cleveland's fault because his home town didn't give Art a big enough welfare check. Money talks, loyalty is for suckers.

I was right.

My dad was a hyper sports freak and especially football; college, pro, even HS. When he died, I found pro football players guides from 1961 that he kept. He thought that Jim Brown was the greatest athlete he ever saw, at least back in the '80s when he told me that. I remember that he said that JB was 50 years old and that he could go back and play in the NFL today, (when he said it).

My favorite quote in the NYT obit was from someone who once had the try to stop him: “All you can do is grab, hold, hang on and wait for help,” Sam Huff, the Hall of Fame middle linebacker for the Giants and the Washington team now known as the Commanders, once told Time magazine.

Anyone see/remember the 1968 movie "Dark of the Sun"? JB was in it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_of_the_Sun

"The film was considered extremely violent for its time showing scenes of civilians being raped and tortured by Simbas. One contemporary reviewer was moved to comment that the director's main objective appeared to be to pack as much sadistic violence into the film's two hours as he could. On the subject of violence director Jack Cardiff commented: "Although it was a very violent story, the actual violence happening in the Congo at that time was much more than I could show in my film; in my research I encountered evidence so revolting I was nauseated. The critics complained of the violent content, but today it would hardly raise an eyebrow."[2]"

My brother took me see it at a drive in when I was 9 yo. My God it scared the **** out of me.
