Going to be interesting to find out the root cause. E.g. missing fasteners, failure to torque fasteners defective material, improper install, etc.

What year was the plane built?

Or what year did it go for updated interior?

Was is a post COVID service in?

All companies had struggled to stay in business hiring unqualified labor and provide quality outcomes.

I read somewhere it was just certified in October. I don’t know exactly what that means though.

I read that the plane had been experiencing pressurization issues for a few days prior to the incident. I can see a situation where one bolt fails or was never installed causing a slight push outward on the door at that bolt location - a torque. Pressurization issues because cabin pressure is escaping out the slight opening. Eventually, the other bolt fails, and the entire plug blows out.

Is this the same plant that lost a few fuselages in the river? Maybe they found one and thought it was OK to use…

They left the locking bolts out. We'll see.

Let me see... three flights with low pressure warnings and an advisory that the aircraft not be scheduled for long flights over water so it could land ASAP in case of a failure.
Somebody in Alaska Airlines maintenance department is going to be looking for new employment.

Let the lawsuits begin.

Best

So they plugged the door hole but did not install any seats in that space?

I'm amazed that no one went out through that hole.

I wonder how many hundreds of milions that will cost Boeing and the airlines. The lawyers must be doing a happy dance.

Just read that the flight recorder data could not be retrieved as it had already been recorded over. Umm, really? Is it on a loop? Why would you not record that whole flight? I mean, we have devices that can store terabytes that are tiny now. I don't get it.

I wonder if they will have BTW announcements on future flights regarding seat belts?
There wouldn't be too many people using the washrooms!
