6'9' and 465 Pounds

Brian Shaw. Just how on Earth does a guy of his size get through day to day life? So many of the little things (pun intended) that we all take for granted are simply impossible for him.

Here he is handing out medals to heavyweight class bodybuilders. These guys will run in the 230-300 pound range. He makes them look like grade school kids.

If he’s 6-9, those bodybuilders look 5 feet tall or less compared to him.

My son is 6'4" and until he started working and loosing weight was 425lbs...

Aside from issues of being comfortable in a car, biggest issue was dealing with smaller kids while in school (he was the size of a average 4 year old when he was 2....) and now his biggest issue is shoes and such (16 5E)

Yet, I bet a 5' 4" 100 pound female in the movies would whip him in a fight in any movie or TV show.

He is one guy that you don't want coming into your all your can eat buffet. And I would call him sir.

It seems there are height divisions in body building. So maybe the photo above was specific to the shortest division (because that would make a more exciting photo). Guys that are shorter (per the linked article) do have a bit of an advantage in some ways.

Seems that most "Mr Olympias" are ~5'10", so pretty avg with regard to height at least.

I work with a guy who is in his early 60's and was the state powerlifting champion when he was in his late 20's. He was 350 pounds back then and showed me pictures of himself. I didn't even recognize his face he changed so much. He has now had both knees replaced, both shoulders replaced and recently had back surgery to repair some problems. All this as a result of powerlifting. I asked it it was worth it. He said at the time he was part of a group of guys and it was like a lifestyle. No one thought about the long term harm they were doing.

I wish Brian Shaw luck and hope he has a good healthcare provider.

My first partner in the PD was 6'8" and 400lbs. It always made for a very entertaining shift. One day he was in a foul mood and I pulled up to a hooker and asked her to take care of him (jokingly of course) she replied "I'm a hooker not a magician" cheered him up right away. At the time we were using k- cars and he could not fit behind the wheel so I always had to drive. Best thing was he drove a Honda Civic CRX.
