RLL and BMW have announced they will end their partnership at the end of this season . RLL are considering their options for next year .
|
Also Mosport this weekend. No GTP cars though, which is a shame.
|
What's concerning with BMW is there was a mention of maybe just doing the IMSA endurance cup races next year  Sounds like WRT who run their WEC program is the front-runner to take over the IMSA program.
|
Oh, and the FEC (Ferrari Endurance Championship), errrrrr, I mean WEC, is running in Brazil this weekend. Shocked to learn that the FIA finally handed a negative BoP to the Ferraris. Probably not enough to be meaningful though. We'll see  :D
|
Cadillac 1-2 in qualifying for Brazil. Porsche 3rd, Peugeot 4th. So neither red Ferrari even made it into Hyperpole - the Aston Martins were faster! This just highlights how manipulative the BoP adjustments are. Ferrari have had advantageous BoPs throughout the year, including Le Mans, and have won everything as a result. The dominate Ferraris are exactly the same as they were, except for weight/HP adjustments and they're at the back of the pack  I'm not happy about that and I'm not a Ferrari-hater at all. It just seems like there needs to be a more balanced, consistent approach to this so that all of the cars have a chance at all races, not at the whim of the BoPs  I don't have the answer.
|
You’re not wrong Curt.
Unfortunately, BoPs probably won’t ever go away. It would be interesting if along with the adjustments, they state exactly why they set them as they do. |
2-1/2 hours to go at the 6 Hours of Sau Paulo:
Hypercar: Cadillac 1-2, Porsche 3-4, Peugeot 5-6. Ferrari? 8-9-12 LMGT3: Lexus 1-2, Porsche 3-9, Corvette 4-8, Aston Martin 5 |
|
PJ and Spike getting it done. Impressive drive off the start. ( so far, weird stuff can happen )

PJ is one fast Bronze driver. Multiple poles and getting victories too.

Just grid up and do your best to hang on. Another thought is, there should be a IMSA team principle sprint race. The guys who are paying for it all, heads up. . |
Cadillac Hertz Jota 1-2 for the win in Brazil. Porsche-Penske 3-4. First WEC win for Cadillac. Lexus won LMGT3, also first win in WEC.
** Ferrari and Toyota were basically also-rans in Hypercar today  |
IMSA race ends under yellow :( . Other than that it was a good race . Had it stayed green I think Rexy would have won GTD Pro based on fuel load . Good win for Spike :D
|
I was there yesterday. It was my first IMSA race that I attended. Those cars were nose to tail most of the time.

^^^ Thanks for the pics! I haven't been to Mosport since the 80s. Always a fun track to visit.
|
Thats great Brian!
I hope you got to spend time at the garages. IMSA access for fans is unequaled. |
^^^^^^
We never got the chance to get to the garage area. We got there Sunday morning around 10. The Mazda race was in progress. The race was cut short when a thunderstorm blew through. All track activity was shut down until the lightning risk was gone. We’re thinking next year to rent an r/v. |

So is AO Racing in line for a 963 GTP car next year? Porsche is talking to an existing IMSA Porsche customer. The livery would be entertaining for sure

^An AO 963 would be very interesting! I dunno if it would be a Roxy since she is Rexys sis. Maybe Spike morphs into a higher class?
I do think they would do a solid job with a 963. The team formed in 2022 and they already have multiple wins in two classes and a GT championship. |
