Toyota's Floury Calls for Urgent Change to Fix Artificial Racing!
Exactly what I was talking about after Brazil. In WEC, it seems like they are picking winners and losers with the BoPs. i.e., Ferrari is winning too much, let's give Cadillac a win this time. Porsche is winning too much, let's give BMW a win. There has to be a better way to administer the BoPs so we know that wins are earned and not just due to an assigned weight/HP ratio  For whatever reason, it does not seem to affect IMSA racing nearly as drastically. I don't know the differences in how the BoPs are assigned. |
BOP racing is tricky, and probably gets really crazy with the money and power dynamic.
I would not want to be in the shoes of the persons who have to deal with it. It is also why LMP2 is cool as a spec series. . |
Relatively simple rules .
1. Chassis can be no lighter than xxxx dry . 2. Run whatever engine you want . 3. Have to run race approved fuel . 4. Hybrid/electric is optional . 5. You will use these tires . 6. Chassis can be purchased or in house built . Let's go racing gentleman may the best team win . |
Road America and the weather is looking great. Time for brats up by T6

Too bad IMSA at Road America is a standard sprint race, really a great track for endurance. Something I always wanted there: two minimum four-hour races, one Sat 6pm and another Noon Sunday. Just don't wad up the car Saturday or bring a full backup.

Nothing like an IMSA race at Road America! I was lucky to be at the very first in 1979 which was won by Derek Bell & David Hobbs in a BMW 320 flamethrower. It was the Pabst 500 - a 500-mile endurance race - and packed with people. Wish I was there this weekend.

Great racing, as usual today. We missed out on a golf cart so brought the truck with scoots.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2cfb6ae728.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f2717f108f.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
A lovely day. A nice turnout in the Porsche Corral, and some good races. The only negative in the main race was all the full course yellows. Way too many laps under caution.

I thought I heard the announcers say starting next year Road America will be an endurance race . Did anyone else pick up on that ? I didn't hear them say how long the race would be .
|
It was announced a few months ago that next years race will be 6 hours!
Can’t wait |

IMSA not playing games with the argy bargy stuff . Two drive thru penalties already .

We were at the race today and it was fun with the argy bargy stuff and a parade after the discipline, from our viewing point.
We made it with 3 guys in their 50's in the 88 targa. I drove 1.5 hours(each way with no ac) with an ass blowing my horn at every women he saw and another balled up in the back seat. Still a good trip and race. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1756090780.JPG |
Watching yesterday's VIR race Rexy and the Wright Motorsports Porsche's didn't have enough power down the straights to make a pass . I don't know if that is a BOP issue or limitations of the 4.0 flat six engine . Or maybe that track just isn't a good one for the Porsche . I am definitely a Rexy/Roxy fan :D
