What that seller is doing is illegal and in some cases a felony. He can't legally sell that car to anyone unless he titles it in his name. He is listed as a private seller. When you look at his profile he has had 68 past listings obviously a flipper. You should report it before it comes back to haunt you. On a side note I think it should have reached a higher price

The original look makes my eyes glassy. The 67 912 on my paper route caught my eye and then the Turbo Carrera came out in 74, I think, and that was it.

I hope they screwed the title up somehow when purchased from Fred. These guys know peeps, though, that will bend.

Just as a point of information and no criticism of Fred, but an "open title" is the SELLER's issue, at least in Pa. Pa law pretty clearly requires the "buyers information" section of the title to be filled out. Now, will some buyers balk at this? Sure, b/c they can't resell the car without first titling the car in their name and you have to pay sales tax on a vehicle when titling it, so buyers request it be left open.
Is it unethical to represent the car as this seller is doing? Sure.

Sad to see this car being flipped over and over. I bought my 911 back from the guy I sold it to years ago and he lived in PA. I flew in to drive it across the country home. Had to time my flight to leave enough time for the both of us to go to a DMV office to get the title transferred out of his name. Very different than how things work in WA.

I know that at the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona, law enforcement regularly checks the titles for cars at the Swap Meet, and they better match the seller or it becomes a problem.

BaT requires a photo of the title in order to accept a listing.

I guess somebody good with Photoshop could make one...

It is referred in the listing as a PA. title and that the seller is operating as an agent for the owner, (Fred). I'm sure that it's still in his name and the flipper is just a pathological liar.

I sold a car last week on BaT as an agent for the owner but it was true. Big difference.

Looks like the seller has been called out on BAT not only for this car but for having over 100 listings and claiming to be a private seller. BAT says they are investigating I won't hold my breath They make a lot of money off people like this seller.

If I'm not mistaken, John Walker was asking a low $16K for a '76 930 many years ago....

I remember when you could buy a 76/77 930, in concours condition for $20K, should you stuck em in a barn instead of turning them in track cars.
