NWNJ has had very nice weather but forest fire danger is High due to the lack of rain.

Sounds horrible. My backyard is 50% fireweed. Some people are allergic. Some aren’t.

The old wives tale is the higher the fireweed the worse the oncoming winter. Four cords of wood stacked up. Working on a fifth.

Also strange lack of mosquitos. I hate them. But just unnatural for this part of the world. Something’s off with nature.

Yeah, we've had a super mild summer, but Texas did assert itself a bit this month.

Wow, I've never heard of fireweed. Sounds like nasty stuff!

Oklahoma City tied a record from 1899 for the coldest streak in August ever. No complaints!

73 degrees at 1:15 PM. I love it.

Never had an Aug like this in my life ... after a July that sizzled and rained (together) like never before too...

I'm pretty sure an astroid is gonna hit the US on Tue at 10:26 am, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts

Right Now (08/29/2025 2pm) it is 92 degrees in Fresno, CA. It's projected to have the next 5 days over 100 degrees and then down to high 80's.

We had a very nice summer this year. We only had a few really hot days and that has been in the last two weeks. It actually rained on Monday with thunder storms but it has dried out since then. It was also very windy this summer. I am looking forward to fall weather.

Sorry Nick.

I think that was me. We stole the heat. It's definitely warming up down under in the colonies. The days are getting longer too.

As has been mentioned many times, Summer in coastal SoCal starts Aug 1 and continues through Halloween. Then Fall: Nov, Dec and mostly Jan. Beginning Feb 1 it starts to get cold as we know cold, which is hardly below 40º. March varies, but most of the time it's not outdoor weather by any means.

Yeah, it gets hot in the central valley and a lot earlier too. You have more traditional weather patterns but 10 to 15 degrees hotter when it's hot. We are HOT right now. Low 90's into the week with the "real feel" of 100+; humidity 50+.

As a kid living in Fresberg during Jr. High & H.S. in the summers, we ran around in shorts and thongs on our feet. We didn't pay too much attention to the heat, though I remember a period of over a week straight in 1959 when it got over 105 each day. We had a swamp cooler that blew cool air down into the short hallway in our house. I do remember sitting on the floor in the hallway once in a while.
