Best of luck to all of you in TX... but this Rita thing begs the obvious question: Given that we're heading into a period of killer hurricanes, why in the hell would anyone in their right mind live in Florida or the Gulf Coast? Geez, I feel for you guys that have to board up or evacuate 5 times a year.

I was thinking "why would anyone install Cat 5.. Cat 5e is minimum for gigabit and Cat 6 is much better"

I hope everyone down there is safe and well.

I'm still here watching the traffic and waiting to leave. I just talked to a friend that lives near me, it's taken him 3 hours to go 15 miles.

Richard, at least we get some warning. How's that earthquake prep coming.

EDIT: I wish Bush would open the south bound lane to go north, at least Louisiana did that.

And I can't think but wonder why anybody in the right mind would live in California when the big one hits. At least with a Hurricane, you can watch it = and choose to leave. God Speed to you Houston folks. My first job out of college was doing the accounting for a marine supply company that got slammed by Alicia.

Pretty heavy stuff indeed. Sounds silly to say, but I wish all in the path well...

Bought storm panels. Right now the 911 is parked on a stack of 4x8s. I really don't want it, but I would like to help someone who needs it. I've got like $300 in it.
