Sabra, based on the Reliant?

Yellowbird RS 11-24-2005 08:34 AM

looks like some kind of rare Lotus Elite (56-59)

dafischer 11-24-2005 09:02 AM

Nope...not a Ginetta, Dare, or LaDawri.

This is a tough one.

Lada Niva?

notfarnow 11-24-2005 11:18 AM

Bingo! good catch, I don't think they were ever sold in the US.

I read a review once that said "Will go anywhere, and make you deaf getting there."

Overall pretty robust little rigs, but dealer support for service & parts kept them from being practical. A few years ago there were still quite a few around, usually for under 1k.

notfarnow 11-24-2005 11:24 AM

No Ladas anymore, I think they stopped selling them in the early 90's. Made great winter beaters!

86 911 11-24-2005 11:24 AM

That's cool that they sell those in Canada. There were a lot of them over in Poland, mostly out in the country. If you Google "Lada Niva" you'll get some cool Rally photos.

No. Do you all give up?
One more hint: The manufacturer is still around but they don't make cars anymore, only pickups and SUVs.

That's an Elva Courier coupe.

Tim

86 911 11-27-2005 06:07 PM

Anzures, is that a Jaguar?

Bob Goding 11-27-2005 06:10 PM

The wheels look like early Cooper--the drums were cast into the wheel center. It probably has a Coventry Climax or a side valve Ford.

Yellowbird RS 11-28-2005 08:24 AM

no it's not Jaguar, Cooper, ford or Climax but it's BRITISH

Howard Agency 11-28-2005 09:23 AM

Right on Mr. Hansen.
Mr. Bird:
It could be Lola or Elva. When I googled them (without reference to cars) there are some really neat porn photos of girls named Elva and Lola.

Will look for cars as soon as I finish that :)

Yellowbird RS 11-29-2005 08:24 AM
