Lada Niva?
Bingo! good catch, I don't think they were ever sold in the US.
I read a review once that said "Will go anywhere, and make you deaf getting there." Overall pretty robust little rigs, but dealer support for service & parts kept them from being practical. A few years ago there were still quite a few around, usually for under 1k. |
No Ladas anymore, I think they stopped selling them in the early 90's. Made great winter beaters!
That's cool that they sell those in Canada. There were a lot of them over in Poland, mostly out in the country. If you Google "Lada Niva" you'll get some cool Rally photos.

One more hint: The manufacturer is still around but they don't make cars anymore, only pickups and SUVs. |

Anzures, is that a Jaguar?
The wheels look like early Cooper--the drums were cast into the wheel center. It probably has a Coventry Climax or a side valve Ford.
no it's not Jaguar, Cooper, ford or Climax but it's BRITISH
Right on Mr. Hansen.
Mr. Bird: It could be Lola or Elva. When I googled them (without reference to cars) there are some really neat porn photos of girls named Elva and Lola. Will look for cars as soon as I finish that :) |
