There's a note on there "I think this is from Australia". Let me set the record straight by pointing out Jeremy Clarkson is British. This vid has been doing the rounds for some years though now.

Didn't someone just cite his opinion in another thread stating that American cars are crap. Seems he doesn't like 911s either...

Then engine is missing in the last stunt. That is a shame.

That's because if they'd left the engine in the car, then they would have been able to drive it away (while lapping a TVR at Lemans)...

If it makes you feel any better, here is a vid of Clarkson nearly pissing himself in a CarreraGT. Towards the end of the vid he contemplates whether he likes the CGT more than his beloved British and Italian cars and the only answer he can summon is to look at the CGT in awe and say "My GOD!"

I thought it was rather flattering to Porsche, and funny.

He hates everything. See him on the "Grumpy old men christmas special"?

I also saw him on another program driving an E-Type around France. He hated that too. Possibly because it broke down more often than it needed refuelling.

Dad had two XKEs, six and a twelve, never broke down, ever, though the horn would honk if you turned the wheel to the lock on the 12, and they both leaked like crazy with the top up.

Could not get through the whole video here, I know P cars are screwed together pretty well already.

Yes, he's British, funny and does understand cars - most of his reports are a mixture of his distinctive style and real truths about cars.
The point he was making in this one - wait for it- was to praise the 911 as indestructible.
If you switch on your brain and watch it you can see this in every scene.
He also now absolutely loves the NEW 911 997 - watch his review of the 911S version - everything he says is true - he uses his style to do it but the bottom line is he is in awe of the new 911S.

Wake up and smell the coffee? - or some such American phrase.

My grandfather owned a well known shop in NYC that specialized in British / Leyland car repairs. He retired a very wealthy man in his 50's.

I understood his point. I just thought it was a shame he destroyed a nice car.

You can't take Clarkson too seriously. I think he's funny as hell, and Top Gear is a great show. He does have a well documented history of hating Porsche though, when Tiff (Porsche nut) was still on the show, it used to get pretty interesting. Now I think Richard Hammond has a 3.2 Carrera, seems like he's been made fun of a few times for it. He loves the new 997 in spite of himself, and gave the Cayman a decent review as well. Shame they destroyed that early 911, but it sure made it look good.

I understand that part, but to Kick an H1 headlight like a piece of trash while we have to fork out big bucks for them, that was just wrong
