New Orleans residents = retards
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/05/20/nola.mayor/index.html
They re-elect this "chocolate city" moron? After Katrina? Sorry, next Cat 5 to hit 'em I'm withholding my charitable donation check and they're on their own - these people don't deserve my assistance or sympathy any more. That just clinched it. Un-be-freekin'-lievable. They had the chance to do something to help themselves not repeat the mistakes of the past and instead default to the same old stupidity. Sorry, I can't stomach helping someone that won't at least TRY to help themselves first. Is this too harsh? Am I out of line for thinking this way?

Election became a "race" referendum (look at the numbers).

You didn't get the memo?...The media made sure it was spread wide and far. Bush was at fault for Nagin's and Blanco's unpreparedness and incompetence. Bush should have violated law and overruled Nagin and and Blanco when they prohibited his intervention. Unfortunately the strawman the media beat on, Michael Brown, was vindicated, despite the oft repeated lie that it was his and Bush's fault that New Orleans has been ruled by Democrat corruption for years.
The fact that the American public, specifically the idiots of Lousiana, believed the media only testifies to the power of the media and/or the corruption of the Louisiana election system. It is all a part of the Democrat plan, afterall. As long as you keep society crumbling and in decay, you have a need for ever larger and expanding welfare. Dependency translates to votes and those votes translate to voting for continuing the manufacture of problems that offer more dependency. The vicious cycle of liberalism (socialism). |

I lost any hope of inteligance from NO for the simple reason of building below sea level, filling in the marshes (natural flood plain for the Mississippi river) and expecting a system of levees to hold back the full fury of the most powerfull force on the planet.
I am already pissed about the fact my homeowners may go up to help offset the cost of the payouts for these underwater folks. For the people who trully can't aford to get out, my heart goes out to them, as for the rest I can't be bothered. If I hurt someones feelings TFB. My advice is simple...higher ground

Although I refrained from using the same non-PC adjectives, I too feel they are asking for it and deserve what they get from now on.
I also think it is time for the rest of them to start supporting themselves instead of the federal government (us) supporting them. |

Liberals never learn. As far as I am concerned, they continue to choose mismanagement and graft................they are on their own. It is like the people who rebuild their homes over and over in a flood plain....and every few years when the flood, the federal govt rebuilds it for them. Maybe the first time can be passed off as an error or bad luck....afterward it is either outright fraud, institutionalized stupidity, or both.

Lets say what needs to be said. The idiot lower class black folks elected a black mayor even though he sucks. Much like lower class white folks, they have the common traits of being both morons and racists. The homeboys elected a homeboy. Its the same ***** year after year in Detroit.

It is not that they can't afford to move, they already moved, they are moving back and rebuilding. Same thing here, Sacramento will be the next big flood disaster, tons of homes protected by 100 year old levees, built in former rice fields

Second, do you think you have enough information to call the mayor of another city a moron? Would that be based on (notoriously stereotypical) national news reports, and political attempts to discredit him during Katrina? Consider that the people who live there and best know what's going on chose him.

Dumb as hell. I don't care about anyone else, he's the man at ground zero, and did NOTHING. Some kid had the common sense to use a school bus to evacuate victims, perhaps he should have been on the ballot. The comments he made should have sank him for good, but there were other cultural factors for the voters to consider appearently.

Nothing they do in NO surprises me any more. They spent more time and money getting the 2006 Mardi Gras together than they have rebuilding the levees. This should tell us something. Seems like they want to party like Hell and get the blessing of Heaven.

Call the attempts to descredit Nagin during Katrina what you will; he did that to himself. It's funny...keep slamming Bush but cry foul for Nagin. Your mantra has grown WAY old.

Same ilk that re-elected a crack smokin' mayor in DC. Tell me again why we need to help such people?

I agree with Wayne, Kerry was way too liberal to appeal to moderates. Too elitest, with a liberal voting record and a "plan" that never seemed to get explained. I typically lean Republican, but don't vote the party line. Kerry was way out there for me, as he obviously was for the rest of the country.
As for NO, I think they may get what they're asking for. Oh well, I'd be getting the hell out if it were me.

Actually his voting record is only slightly liberal. He was liberal on some issues, conservative on others. This "way out liberal" isn't actually true. I studied his voting record, and he was on the liberal side, but was not even close to what the media tried to claim.
As far as his plan, actually that was both sides. I heard zero in the way of plans from both. So to me, that was a wash. Additionally, Bush had a poor performance record before the election..... |
