LateBrakeU2 is in Malibu and he hasn't responded here lately. I hope he's safe and didn't suffer any damage.

I just took it a 4:30
Mark is doing fine. He stayed home yesterday after a mandatory evacuation in his area. He had to stay to protect his dogs.

The fire was to his west, thankfully. The wind blew hard to the west keeping the fire blowing away from his property. Even still, the radiant heat from the fire made it go eastward slightly(against the wind). At one point the flames were on a ridge 500 yards from his house.

Today the winds are slowly decreasing and Mark should be able to relax by sundown. Tomorrow the onshore breeze comes back and will cool us and Mark off significantly. Thank goodness!

Very scary stuff. I hope everyone is safe. My wifes mom had to evacuate Fallbrook yesterday. It took her two hours to get through Camp Pendleton and another two to get to our house. My wifes younger brother and his family had to evacuate from Scripps Ranch yesterday also.

Stay safe everyone.

Back on line. Looks like it's going to blow west of me (fingers cross'd). I pray for rain and snow. Didnt sleep at all last night. Top of the ridge was glowing red.

This mornings activity. I delivered a few cases of bottled water to our finest Fire Fighters. These guys rock!!!!!!!!!

A Plug for Fireman

A "Plug" for Fireman

Never thought I would appreciate so many Helo's over my head. Past few days the guys on the ground and in the air whether County, City or private contractor
have more than earned their keep. Not enough words that describe thanks a million different ways. Fireman rock! These guys don't quit because it's 5 oclock. The don't stop because they get tired. They don't get to go home to families until the job is done. All Fireman rock.......

This is the tract I live in. My house is directly below the water tower on the left.
On the left is burned and in the next picture everything on the right is still burning.

These pilots have a talent and uncanny aim for saving structures.
I am glad they are here. Not enough thanks in the entire world would be enough for what Firefighters do.

Forget the fish!! What about all those scuba divers I hear about getting sucked up and dropped on forest fires? They need to be represented also.

Great pics Derek. Really classic cars, in the purest sense. I even dig the Pinto wagon. It's cool to see totally different cars in the same place. Too bad I'm on the Right Coast. I'd love to see them all in person someday.

Sorry I missed you guys. I was early! I know amazing. Was the rs200 replica still there? He had the engine compartment open, for those of you interested. You missed the Mad Max "last v8"(real/replica?). I was awesome. I loved the flared on that pinto. There was a really nice slate blue 356 coupe that rolled through too.
