Sorry this took awhile Alereck.

When I took the right rear wheel off to change the starter recently it was weighed in at 32.4 lbs.
The Roger Krause Racing website states that the rear tire weighs 19.0 lbs.
If that is correct then the rear wheel weighs 13.4 lbs.

She's loud, stiff, abrubt, and powerful.
Thru the steering wheel you feel every single flaw in the road, so you can imagine what Mulholland does for the ride. ;)

Still something bumping up front, maybe a shock, or sway mount. We'll see.

Warm weather is good for soft rubber and it's been a long time since we met at Truckstop. What do you say Jeremy, a demo perhaps? Mon, Tues, or Wed, will be warm.

Porsches rule!

In the Paddock of the Long Beach Grand Prix there were some beautiful Porsches.

The famous Bob Bondurant was there to sign autographs. Very cool!

Lots of incredible motors and other neat stuff to see.

Like these Race Queen Girls.

These "Race" girls always add spice to the track experience. Besides, someone's got to hold the umbrella.

As much as I have loved going to the LBGP over the years, I just could not put it into my heart to line Tony George's pockets this year. I don't know if the man is racist, greedy, stupid, or all of the above. But he has absolutely destroyed open wheel racing here in the United States.

Hey Chris,
I was at LBGP for ALMS as well, didn't know you were going or I would've tried to hook up.
I was hanging around ALMS paddocks and grandstand 24 for the race, Still hurtin' from the
sunburn. Good race though.

Thanks for that John. Nice photo.

Kiley, those photos of the LBGP were taken by Larry O'Rourke. I sometimes post his photos so that everyone can see them. I always say Photos courtesy of...at the end so that he gets the credit.

Instead of the Long Beach event, my wife and I went to see the Cornwell Sheridan Car Collection in Gardena.
There are four such collections in Gardena owned by private collectors who cherish old Automobila.
Jane and I were invited by the Ferrari Owners Club to attend. A delicious Italian lunch was served in the second showroom after a tour and talk from the owners.

Automotive memorabilia is everywhere. Many things that most of us have never seen before. This is actually a beautiful private museum created by the Simon Brothers.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1240776603.jpg

This is only one example of what lies all over the showroom, a 1942 Olds with original plates, original mohair interior, and with a documented 68,000 miles on it. Wow!
Man!, the paint on these cars is incredible!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1240776621.jpg

Unique old items like this Radial engine with a bent prop cover the walls and floors and a person could spend hours looking at all of this.
These artifacts tell stories.

Pretty cool, Chris. Anyone been to the Nethercutt in San Fernando?

In the adjoining room are cars for sale like this brand new-like Triumph TR6, other amazing autos everywhere.

My drool marks are probably still on this VW Transporter. I swear it looked better than showroom condition. You can lick the inner fenderwells it is so clean.
I'm still in shock, also in shock from the asking price, I should go and lay down til I feel better.

Even my wife Jane was flipping (sorry honey, no pun intended), and it's not easy to impress her with an old Volkswagen. Ha Ha. Here she is checking out the details.
The Jaguar XKE in front is restored to as-new condition also. Unbelievable!

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1240777443.jpg

Cars like this Woody have been used in many Sportsman's Illustraited Swimsuit Issues for years. Also Playboy Magazine has used cars from this collection.
The cars are routinely rented out to studios for film work and are driven on a regular basis to keep them in top condition.
The two Simon brothers do all the restorative work right there in the showroom's shop.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1240777465.jpg

There is also a collection of old wooden radios from early days of AM and Shortwave. Beautiful antiques.
This was a fun collection to visit. I hope you enjoyed the photos.

This thread wanders off course so much we are hitting gimble lock, which is part of the reason it is so cool. So, another course deviation.....

From German TV, Lemans 1970. Lots of 917s (the "Hippie" Langheck is my all time favorite!) 908s, 911s, 914-6s. Keep an eye out for the Solar Productions 908 camera car shooting race footage for McQueen's Lemans.

Was that the thing in the church? I didn't stick around to meet the Pro Tools guy.
