Porsche Crest Laguna Seca

Light and fast RSR. Appears to be nearly all fiberglass.

Porsche Longtail magic.

Look how small this Porsche is. What a fast little car.

One especially for you Dave B.

Porsche Crest Mulholland Nights

Part of the allure of Mulholland are the lights that are visible from the ridgetops, especially on warm nights.
This is a good example of the sights you see and have seen for many years.

Mulholland Racers of all eras have talked about the beautiful lights from the Valley.

Porsche Crest William Mulholland and his story

Backround of William Mulholland as told by his grand-daughter, one point of view.

Video is long but interesting. Much of the same information is recorded in the book, The Mulholland Experience.

Halloween

This photo was made by Jeff Hailpern, a significant contributer to this thread.

Jeff is famous for his very elaborate Halloween display at his house.

It's great that he does this for all the kids that enjoy a Halloween treat. Way to go Jeff!

This is an awesome thread guys, I finally finished reading through the whole thing.... there is so much information in here! You guys are really lucky to have this road in your backyard. I only have one experience with the road and it is nothing exciting but its kind of special to me since I have only been on the road once.

So my dad has a good friend who is an avid porsche driver/racer who has been trying to persuade my dad for the last couple years that he needs a porsche, well in early July my dad broke down and agreed that maybe it was time for him to get one. It wasn't until August that we found one, it was in Los Angeles, so we had the previous owner take it to have a PPI done, as soon as we found out the results we booked our plan ticket and headed out the next day. We arrived at 11 and met the seller at his office downtown LA. We then had to take the car to the DMV to get a "one way pass" back home since the car had not yet been registered in NJ and was no longer registered in CA, after about two and a half hours waiting in the DMV we finally got the one way pass. I thought that Mulholland would be a good first drive with the car and with a little persuasion my dad agreed. I don't think either of us expected Mulholland to as awesome of experience as it was. We both agree that it was a perfect place to christen the car. Even though we only spent a half hour up there it was the most talked and is the most talked about part of our trip, that and somewhere out in Utah were there was no one around and no exits for 110 miles. We both had an excellent trip and agreed that Mulholland was an awesome road!

Banning- I was just wondering if you could clarify just how the roof was lowered

thanks AC

Great story, thanks for sharing.

The roof was lowered by first notching the A pillars and cowl panel. Then after tilting the stock windshield back towards the rear of the car about four inches, a shortening and sectioning the B and C pillars was accomplished. This resulted in an overall shortening of the roofline of 2.5 inches. Then all drip rails were cut off smooth. After that a new lexan rear window was made and flanges were fabricated to make the new plastic rear window fit flush with the roof (no step down for rear glass).
