This is an early photo of Gary Cooper with his Deusenberg. After a day's work at the studios, both he and John Carradine would wrench on their cars across the street. There was a shop there that had Deusenberg tools. These cars had their own special tools that only worked on Deusenbergs and they were the fastest cars of the day. When they were done, where would they go for a fast road test/race? Mulholland Drive. The road must have been fairly new at that time. Bobby Carradine imparted this information about his dad. Many years later but in the same tradition, here is Bobby C. working on his Corvette getting ready for a night on Mul. Bobby was one of the fastest racers from the late 70's. Bobby was one of the few that made a successful transition to pro racing like Mark and George. Here he prepares for a road race with a Brumos Team Porsche Racecar. |

Jeff, very eloquent words for Mul. I think you and I should join in, on any Sunday with our fellow Porschefiles for a run. Maybe two or three Sundays from now. What do you think? We could invite some others from this thread to go too, like Mark, Bart, Dave, Jeremy, George and other important folks. My Porsche isn't fixed yet, so I'll have to take the Testarossa. I hope the Ferrari won't offend anyone. We could even plan an event to Mulholland Hwy for some real high speed fun, and have lunch at the Sagebrush Cantina. I've planned events like this for the Ferrari Club and would be willing to put this together for this thread group. We could have a spotter driving ahead of us to determine road safety and speed traps just so that we have a safe fun day. Starting at Grandstands to the 405 to Sunset to the end of Mulholland to the Cantina. Any thoughts?

Chris, you and your Ferrari are always welcome. In fact we had a member of the Tifosi with us yeterday, he was just cleverly disquised as a Porsche owner.

Thanks Radu, we will get acquainted April 8th or 15th for a short Sunday run first before our thread event. Next Sunday, April 1st I am hosting an event for 100 Ferrari owners at the Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills. Food, music, tours, the whole enchalada. It's slightly unnerving. After that I will have much more time to relax.

C.B. let me know. By the way do you remember when we got your A sedan ready for "Steve Edwards 2 on the town ". That is a great video of Mul on a busy afternoon chasing down the blue car do you recall??? Steve Edwards could not beleive that video shoot. He did not want to go with you had camera set up on manual or something. You should down load that video for the guys to enjoy. Come on dig out the tape! Beta if I recall. I am even on it with Johnny Mul fun days.........

Hi George, yes that was a heck of a lot of fun. They put the camera into my Camaro Racecar and we went blazing back and forth between Coldwater and Skyline Dr. The shots were pretty good since we did it in the daytime. They did a good job of making that video. I'll look for it. I can still hear the roar of that engine, I miss that car.
