Didnt vote... just wanted to say that this happens in every
internet forum that Ive ever been a member of (this is the
3rd one). Members get banned, or they "quit" and announce
their quittings publically.... but 98% of the time, they come back
under a different user name. So we will probably see him back
anyway.

I was involved in something a while back on Compuserve where someone was having thier posts moved to "Section 8". He was insulted that his posts were moved to the Ghetto housing area, and he thought it was racially motivated.

Appearently, there are 2 kinds of section 8, and both pertain to the government.

Pat was a section 8 (Off Topic) attention whore. Like RedUFO.

I have only had 1 post deleted and only one warning (I live a sheltered life), but I don't play games with people around here and I don't need to act like a screaming, manical lunatic either.

I do believe civility should be maintained. Whatever it was, I do know he had been warned in the past.

agree that I haven't seen any personal attacks from pat which have been worse than others, in both frequency and content.

This is why Z's response was so puzzling. But since we serve at the pleasure of PP, we basically don't have any rights, which is fine.

When fastpaster first got here, one of his first vitriolic posts was how it was a shame that the pentagon wasn't destroyed on 9/11.

That did it for me. Some people say he is a nice guy in person, but so was Jeffrey Dahlmer.

Maybe Pat will smile that kinky little smile next time he attempts to board a commercial flight.

He'll come back as some other wacko, but his cut and paste personality will show him up.

Guess I'm a 2%er...When I left the S registry board, I left it. Haven't been back.

I got yelled at for learning how to bypass the curse-word filter. That was pretty cool. No, I won't tell how. Zoltan will do stuff to me.

Can't believe FP was still here after the first time he advocated the destruction of the Pentagon & White House. To me that shows a remarkable amount of latitude from the mods. If it had been my 'house', he'd have been banned permanently, but fast.

Legion mentioned that he's been the target of some vicious words, but he didn't mention me. Then Island posts his remarks. Both those guys, and especially Island, have been pretty viciously attacked by me. I personally believe I have stepped over that line. Both feet. Try as I might, I cannot seem to achieve Ban Status.

On the other hand, I actually feel I understand most of the Moderators' Code. While I emphatically confess to have overstepped the boundaries of personal decency and respect.....I'm only over that edge occasionally. Somewhat rarely. And apparently, brief transgressions can be forgiven, where the Moderators believe the out-of-control poster to be capable of rehabilitation and re-entry into our little society. The actual bans have targeted a different type of poster. A poster who can't seem to see where the line is. I probably wouldn't have banned Pat, though I recognize that some of his remarks were, essentially, treason. I can easily understand Moderators being uncomfortable with that. Overthrow of the federal government is not a joke. But I felt, and still feel, that Mul earned every bit if his banning(s). Later, he calmed down and we still see him here, I think. But for a good long time I felt he fully earned any and all ban decision the Moderators could make. If the Moderators made an error in judgement with regard to Mul, it was the failure to ban him long before they did.

Can it be that this very topic supports the theory of several Porsche entusiasts (at least in L.A.) who refuse involvement with Pelican OT and states of those who do post on it, "...have no life?"

hey, if they don't like it here....it doesn't hurt my feelings not to see there posts. are they 914 people? if so they have their own civil war going on between "world and club"

I once had a post where I insulted everyone on the board who was either conservative, liberal, or moderate. I didn't even get a response. I pouted for days.....

I did a personal ban on FP right after I first saw him post about destroying the Pentagon and the death of Servicemen/women!!! Haven't missed him. Though I do seem to like Dr. Ron Paul....
