I have an Acura RSX-S and it's a blast!

I can throw a Hiwatt 4X12 cab in a road case in the back, or a mountain bike or whatever and go on my way..... or I can seat 4 people ( hopefully the back two passingers are midgets ).

I drive mostly highway and get 35-36 mpg with no problem ( I drive it pretty easy though ) It has 62,000 miles and not a single problem except for the rear hatch shocks going bad.

The car is a BLAST to drive .... 200 hp, 8,000 redline, 6 speeds and probably one of the best shifting cars on the Planet.

The only flaw with the car is I have all these damn kids in the Civics wanting to race me all the time.

'92 BMW 325i E36 w/ bilstein sports. Car has about 280,000 miles on the clock and still runs, drives and looks good. It gets about 26 mpg. If my daughter who occasionaly drives it when she needs to haul 4 people or "needs" AC, does not wreck it, I plan to see just how many miles it can go. It still has the stock clutch believe it or not and uses very little oil. Best 5 grand I ever spent when I "stole" it about 8 years ago when it had 140k on the clock and needed struts and AC work.

'90 Mazda Miata.

The first year I had this car was rough due to the amount of repairs it needed (made my 944 look dirt cheap!) but once I got the bugs worked out of it, it has been a very solid, reliable car. Easy to work on, too.

It's a blast to drive, easy to park, fairly good on fuel (not as good in the winter, but not horrible) and fun in the snow with my snow tires. Unfortunately, it's not quite as good on the long road trips, but I have another car for that task.

This may end up becoming my track flogger if I get a "grown up" car down the road, but currently I suffer from "automotive ADHD" with my plans, so we'll see how that goes...

Had been driving the 944 for the past year but picked up a 2002 996 Coupe about a month ago. Although I didn't buy it for fuel economy I do find I average 24 or 25 mpg but have got about 32 mpg on a run up to Charlotte. If I did ever get onto the gas, which I don't on public roads , I expect it would drink quite heavily 'cos it takes off like a greyhound after a hyperactive hare. It's nice to have cold A/C, especially in summer down here. Also it's so spacious that I managed to get a whole potted plant in the trunk AND a folded up deck chair in the back, although that was pushing it to be honest.

BMW 330i with 120Kmi on the clock. It's no Porsche, but it's classy, and it handles pretty well. 200 horses isn't a whole lot, but it's more than enough to handle my daily drive. Around here, the traffic is so bad that it's more important to be comfortable (A/C, good stereo, comfortable seats, quiet interior) than it is to handle well and be powerful.

Maintenance so far has been trivial. I've replaced the slider-doodads on the sunroof (20 minutes), changed the oil (15 minutes), replaced the front rotors, and adjusted the driver's side window, and so far it's all been _very_ straightforward.

Would I do it again? Absolutely.

2000 Silverado, extended cab short bed, 2wd, 5.3 auto. Slow, 17 MPG, sucks to park. Only bought it because we have remodeling to do on our house, which is a royal pain without a truck. Would I do it again? Not if I didn't have to.

1998 Toyota 4Runner. I love it! It has NEVER let me down or needed anything except tires. It has about 85k miles on it now. Well it's my winter beater now cause I just picked up a '07 Subaru STI Limited that I'll be using for a daily driver during the summer months.

Just bought a used 00' Dodge Ram 1500 to pull a boat. I've never been a truck guy so its taking some getting use to. I'll know in a few months if I made a good decision by buying used instead of new.

The Mercedes is my DD. Love it. Absolutely fantastic in the role. It's reliable, good-looking, fun, sporty, convertable and comfortable. Everything works well and reliably - including the a/c.

The 944s (before I bought the SLK) are decent DD's but honestly I was getting sick and tired of spending every weekend in the garage non-stop because of too many projects on them. It's one thing if they're my "fun" cars and wrenching is an optional activity that I find enjoyable, rewarding and oddly cathartic, but it crossed the line when it was trying to cram that in AND stay on top of all the "routine" maintenance just to keep them operational for commuting purposes. At the time, I was commuting 70+ miles a day, so I HAD to have a fully-operational, working, dependable car at all times - preferably with a backup on deck "just in case".

Now that I have my newer DD (which nicely has a warranty too), the 944s are back to being "fun" again.

My '86 911 except in July and August when the temperatures and humidity are both above 90. I don't have AC in the 911. Then I drive my '05 Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 hemi. Faster than most cars off the line. Gas mileage is around 11mpg in the city and 19 on the highway.

'98 Acura Integra GSR sedan. 8100 redline, wails like a banshee when it is on the cam(variable valve timing) 4 doors, decent back seat and trunk, tad under 30 MPG around town. 140,000 miles of frequent trips to redline. Gas, oil, tires, a timing belt around 100,000, and brakes twice. Had to get boots on steering rack cahnged out as I dripped brake fluid on them doing the brakes and the rubber rotted.

Has been a great car, got it with 4 miles on it. It is a sedan, so after I took the badge off the back indicating it was a GSR the rice boi crowd leaves me alone. Almost as good as the old bug, but that was a convertible

The 911 does daily driver duties, but our family grocery-getter is an 04 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition. I call it the pimp-mobile. I hate it. It's a pig on gas, the automatic transmission is terrible (takes forever to get into gear from park, I can't tell you how many times I've peeled the tires accidentally IN REVERSE!), the suspension is horrible - you get motion sickeness from all the bouncing - it feels like a boat. The seats aren't very comfortable, and the back seat is at a terrible angle for installing baby seats. The only thing I like about it is the storage space and the sound system. The lease is up in December and I can't wait to get rid of it!

1965 Corvair Monza. TRUE pillarless coupe, 2 speed Powerglide, ice cold A/C (Sanden compressor), easy to work on, no blind spots, fold-down rear seat, large trunk, gets WAY more waves and "thumbs-up" than either of our Porsches. A true hoot to drive except for when you stop in a parking lot (always someone wanting to ask questions or share a story) *EDIT* Sorry for the double post. slow computer this AM
