Oddly enough, this makes me like him a little more.


Thanks to a lucrative contract negotiated with the Weinstein Co. by his talent agent, Endeavor's Ari Emanuel, Michael Moore is in line to receive 50% of "Sicko's" gross profits — arguably one of the most lucrative deals on Hollywood's books, richer even than that enjoyed by the likes of Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts and director Peter Jackson.

His films cost next to nothing to make, and he's flush enough that I'm sure he finances them himself. He is the "talent", the director/producer/in charge of blowjobs/etc...

Because of this, and his fame and therefore profitability of his product, he is in a pretty unique position to negotiate w/ Hollywood. I can't stand MM, not because of his politics but because I love documentary film and he has taken a giant schit on the art-form. His stuff really stinks to the high heavens and he is the most famous impostor ever in documentaries.

Agree and he plays fast and free with the facts to the point where most people realize that his "work" is propaganda and not a documentary.

He is so slimy that he will never be a "power player" but there are just enough people who like his work, like Al Gore's piece of crap, to keep him alive.

I liked learning that he actually got two interviews with Roger Smith while making "Roger & Me". That interfered with the plot of the film though, so it was ommitted.

The interviews also interfered with the truth, so they as well were left out. MM has a problem with telling the "whole truth and nothing but the truth," so embellishes it extensively to sell movies and make the tree huggers give him money.

Then again, if we were to give a prize for the most effective and widespread fleecing of popular perception, MM would have to take a back seat to several folks in the current "administration." And the really important difference here is that MM does not have the job of leading a nation.

Michael Moore is to the left what Limbaugh is to the right. He's the master of the partial truth and the internally-consistent alternate reality. (though some of his most disputed statements in F-9/11 have subsequently been proven correct)

He only got $6 million from F-9/11, despite the film grossing around $150 million. But that's pretty typical Hollywood economics.

When you control the distribution, you can write any deal you want. But when the film is in the can, all a director/producer can do is angle for the best offer.
