Oddly enough, this makes me like him a little more.
![]() Thanks to a lucrative contract negotiated with the Weinstein Co. by his talent agent, Endeavor's Ari Emanuel, Michael Moore is in line to receive 50% of "Sicko's" gross profits — arguably one of the most lucrative deals on Hollywood's books, richer even than that enjoyed by the likes of Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts and director Peter Jackson. http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/movies/la-et-moore29jun29,1,61278.story?track=crosspromo&coll=la-headlines-entnews&ctrack=1&cset=true

He's a rich fat ba$tard.
Ari Emanuel is the guy they based Entourage's Ari Gold on. And he's the brother of Rahm Emanuel. |

Making sure that children get decent nutrition get you jeers and accusations of being a terrorist or worse......a liberal. But bypassing minor laws and major ethics to quickly earn your first million and then earning your next twenty million even more quickly........well that's hero stuff in America.

His films cost next to nothing to make, and he's flush enough that I'm sure he finances them himself. He is the "talent", the director/producer/in charge of blowjobs/etc...
Because of this, and his fame and therefore profitability of his product, he is in a pretty unique position to negotiate w/ Hollywood. I can't stand MM, not because of his politics but because I love documentary film and he has taken a giant schit on the art-form. His stuff really stinks to the high heavens and he is the most famous impostor ever in documentaries. ![]()

He is so slimy that he will never be a "power player" but there are just enough people who like his work, like Al Gore's piece of crap, to keep him alive.

I liked learning that he actually got two interviews with Roger Smith while making "Roger & Me". That interfered with the plot of the film though, so it was ommitted. Wait, are documentaries supposed to have a plot?

His last and greatest target will be Hollywood and the liberal media/educational industrial complex. Like the scorpion on the frogs back - he will sting them too. Because it is his nature. And then the rest of us will have a good laugh.

The truth is a bitter pill to swallow, Moore gives a view point seldom heard and in and entertaining way.

I agree with many of the negative observations about MM. Then again, if we were to give a prize for the most effective and widespread fleecing of popular perception, MM would have to take a back seat to several folks in the current "administration." And the really important difference here is that MM does not have the job of leading a nation.

Re: Michael Moore, Capitalist

He only got $6 million from F-9/11, despite the film grossing around $150 million. But that's pretty typical Hollywood economics. When you control the distribution, you can write any deal you want. But when the film is in the can, all a director/producer can do is angle for the best offer.
