All Things Considered (har har)....I think NPR should be put out of the news business- period.

Taxpayers shouldn't be funding viewpoints and biased reporting no matter what the viewpoint. I used to listen to it when I had long commute and finally switched to a mixture of music and (at the time) Imus. It was just plain depressing to hear that liberal drivel day after day- it was like the world was going to collapse due to the evil landlords, large corporations, republicans etc. Oh the horror...

I do throughly enjoy one NPR station however- WBJC in Baltimore. The best classical music on the radio IMO. I would really support public radio that played a mix of music and programming that isn't commercially viable (blues/gospel/bluegrass/classical and much of the programming that's they currently offer (Prairie Home etc.).

But get rid of the smug, elitist left wing ka-ka that purports to be news. And put Diane Rehm in her grave already.

I'm apalled that the government funds that sort of music without equal time for the Ramones.

I donate every year to KCRW (NPR) and KJZZ (jazz station). I like the "human interest" pieces on NPR vs. the biased news. I did have a beer with Baxter Black at the Rod and Gun Club in Stanley Idaho a few years back, he's a great guy. The more I listen to NPR, the more I think car radios are made to play music from '"College Stations"...

Well I must note that I'm rather relieved that many of you lefties here have enough critical thinking here to see massive spin of npr. Because, quite frankly, some lib's seem to be seriously drunk on the npr flavored koolaid . .. as in worse than religious freaks out there. It got me thinking that there is hope after all ... that maybe I've been overly cynical about the integrity of lib's.

So I'm out walking in a Seattle neigborhood (about 20 min's ago). . and what do I see?

...a typical Starbucks tot'n woman?

oh no. .. what's that on her arm?

.. . could it be?

. . noooooo

an NPR tat' !!!!

Now THAT is commitment!

So now the question is; does Starbucks now sell koolaid?

Wow.

People listen to the radio?!

I am probably not going to be watching television much longer either, now that I can control my media via the internet, only watch news stories that I find relevant, completely miss commercials, and not be subjected to censorship at all (so long as I click the "I'm over 18" button).

If she was really loyal, she'd have a tote bag and a coffee mug, not that messenger bag and Starbucks cup.

Claiming no political leanings, I have to admit that I really enjoy NPR. I time my running schedule with the time broadcast on the local university's radio station. I would much rather listen to this and be forced to think that to half-heartedly pretend to listen to the radio. This approach really helps me keep my mind off of how bad I hate running (though my body responds so well to this regime). I defintely give it a thumb's up for stimulation purposes if nthing else.

I find it easier to listen to NPR and disagree with their bias. I put my own filter on to counter their filter, read my local paper (The Minneapolis Red Star Tribune) and balance it out with internet news sites. ...actually it is I got a crush on Rush, you can just see the second "sh" if you look close in the pics from this series where she is walking

So if I am paying for NPR, does that mean we already have a sort of "Fairness Doctrine" in place? If we do pass it, they will have to start splitting their air time with Fox News or something

I'm not upset with NPR at all...you see, all my radios have a means of changing the station...
