Well, in that part of Seattle, I would guess a good 20%+ of the folks you meet on the street are gay. Perhaps more. If your looking for fellas that are into fellas, thats the right part of town. |

Why would someone be in that part of town with a secret camera?

LOL Shaun.
No, Shaun, I don't use your "secret camera in the newspaper" trick. I'm much more obvious. Big camera, set, point, shoot. ... the Blue Angels were flying around, was hoping to catch a good shot. btw, this was in Ballard, not Capitol Hill (read: pierced and tat'd enviro-ritious bar hop'n yuppie blends, rather than drag, queer, feminatzi blends.)

NPR makes tires too? If you are a distributor, better ask Wayne before you start advertising you are a dealer!!!!

"Fortunately we have them all in a free society so that we can somewhat piece together what is going on in the world and draw our own conclusions. Much better than North Korea's system that is currently in place......"
+1 I suggest listening to all sides, but that requires a certain level of effort (i.e. thinking and analysis) instead of the relative comfort level of tuning in to only what you want to hear. Is there a news station you always agree with? Then I would suggest changing the channel more often. Otherwise, there's always smooth pop, jazz, or rock to sedate you. Sherwood |

All too often when I hear "I suggest listening to all sides" means I should listen to and agree with your side, and that no "thinking and analysis" went into my opinions. Sort of like the big diversity movement; consider your way and do it your way to appease you.
I don't listen to NPR anymore because its by and large liberal drivel crap.

i remember the moment i gave up on NPR. the correspondent was in some african ****hole, describing the open sewers, crumbling ports, decaying bridges, etc. he painted a picture of a country collapsing in on itself. what? oh what, was the cause of this nightmare? there was a long dramatic pause...
and as the horrible folk music swelled in he back ground, the reporter explained that all the locals were notorious tax cheats. and went on to praise some peace corps type western accountants who were training the locals in IRS collection techniques. no mention was made of the cannibal-kleptocrat-dictator running the country. i don't think there's an organized leftist conspiracy. it's a self selecting group of pussy liberal communications majors. in their isolated bubble, they've never even suspected that other opinions exist. and their audience likes it that way. air america is just sad. but try pacifica radio. those guys are full on bat**** crazy.

I've been NPR-free going on four months now. Feels good.
They have always been left-leaning, but lately it has become absurdly biased propaganda. First in many years I have not donated, and I was sure to tell them why.

NPR is the only place I've gotten reports from inside Iraq, talking with troops and Iraqis.
I guess I've missed the 'liberal drivel,' but most complaints directed at 'liberal media' are really complaints about reality, I've found. I find the "we're thoughtful, considerate folks" tone irritating.

Reality? My job puts me in contact with soldiers from Iraq all the time (reconstructive surgery), and I've worked on an Iraqi patient as well (we flew her over for surgery and donated our time). By and large, the soldiers believe in the mission.
NPRs coverage is only one view of reality, with an agenda.

I've stopped listening to NPR because EVERY story somehow is relayed to "global warming". I was a long time listener and could ignore the left-leaning slant, but the "global warming jihad" was driving me crazy!

"Anyone else sick of NPR?"
No, I don't listen to it. I'm REALLY sick of being forced to pay for it! Another government program, like ethanol from corn, that can't stand on it's own merit. If the marketplace wants it, it will succeed. If not, it should go away, just like every other free enterprise that's not needed.
