That would be cool to have.
Unfortunately, when put in use at any lake near me, the likelihood of trying to surface and having a 200+ H.P. BASS BOAT with S.S. prop. cut it in half would be a high probability. Periscope UP!

After your hovercraft experiences, maybe not such a good idea?

Wasn't there a guy on one of the "Monster Garage" episodes that had built one and actually sailed it from Atlantic to Pacific oceans through the Panama canal and everything?

Another sub, but you get wet. http://www.caribsub.com/ Doug's submarine is made out of aluminum...........just needs a hovercraft skirt and air screw propeller and we could have a FLYING SUB.

I believe there is a good reason why subs are basically round in shape; instead of flat panel construction like this one.
Now paint it in camo, add a retractable top and it might make a decent duck blind. |

You must be an old sailor that is wishing for a burial at sea....
Can I have your car when you don't come back..... ![]() Ahh, it won't be that bad, just remember when you get the emergency hatch open to exhale on your way back up.......

The shape has to do with resistance to crush at pressure. That box would concern me if we were talking about actually going deeper than 20-30 feet. Remember, on emergency escape, don't go up faster than your bubbles or your lungs might explode.
