I win....

I never though such a small creature could cause so much havoc on my household.

With the recent rains, after a very long dry spell, the frogs came out in force. In this case, tree frogs.

About 5 days ago 2 figured out a way into the back pool deck and one of them worked his way to make a home on the back porch. From 12-5 in the morning they would begin their noise. It was LOUD so loud it would shake you from your sleep. One of them sounded like my Choc. Lab dry heaving and has caused me to run from my bedroom half awake to let the confused dog out 2 nights in a row before I woke up enough to realize it was not the dog.

The other one sounded like a child screaming in pain. Go back and notice a few of my posts were in the 3-5 in the morning bracket. This was due to the damn frogs.

So last night I had had it! Except one of them was really smart. Every time I even walked to the back slider it shut up and would wait for me to walk away, I have no clue how it knew but it did I swear it did. I had a rough idea where it was but could not see it.

I took my mag light out at 3:30 this morning and started searching. I found the first one he was out in the open and couple of swift shots from a broom handle took care of it.

The second one would hide. It took me an hour to find it. Once I spotted it and moved in, it took off, it climbed the wall, jumped on my leg then onto the dog, who freaked out. Then it jumped in the pool went to the bottom and stayed there looking up at me.

I took the pool pole and pressed it to the bottom thinking I was slick, its time for it to drown. Payback for 5 nights of no sleep. It was smarter than I thought. It climbed up inside the pole. Grrrrrrr!!

I looked down the pole with the mag light and there it was ready to wait me out about 1/2 way up inside the pole. I was getting frustrated and really pissed off. I was now going on 1.5 hours of this. It was 5 in the morning Pissed off and tired would be an understatement.

So I grabbed the bottle of muriatic acid and poured it down the pole. I am not proud of being so brutal on the little sucker but only one of us was leaving this meeting.

I am so looking forward to a quiet night tonight. Especially since I have been up since 3:30 this morning.

Since I was wide awake in the quiet house at 5 and knew the rest of the gang was a good 2 hours from waking, I did a whole bunch of laps on the Ring with GT4.

Gives a whole new meaning to "pole position" doesn't it?

Yea, the acid was a bit harsh. However hooking the pole up to a large compressed CO2 cannister and launching the little guy about a 1/4 mile would have been okay.

I love frogs. They're delicious.

Good job, Jim. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Damn. I work with muriadic acid a couple times a week. I know what it does to my skin after a few seconds....not terrible, but not pleasant.
I can't imagine what it does to frogskin.

Gogar is right. Gotta do what you gotta do.

No frogs croaking last night.

All was peaceful in the house until the 4 y/o woke up at 3 in the morning sick. So its now been a week straight with 2-4 hour nights of sleep.

I am loosing my mind.

So the frog croaked.

I found a bright green tree frog sitting on top of the trash can in my upstairs bathroom last week. I managed to catch it in my hands and let it go outside, but I have no idea how it got there. There were no open windows or gaps it could fit through and I never leave the doors open any longer than it takes to walk through the doorway. The only possible way it could have got in was via the vent pipe on the roof from the toilet downpipe and then into the house via the toilet bowl. This seems incredible and very unlikely, but I just don't see any other way it could have got in.
