Shhhhhh!! You guys are messing up my 1.3 liter 500HP sleeper.

I love the look on the Porsche and Corvette guys faces at DE's when I suck out their headlights with my crappy ricer car with its fart pipe that weighs 2400 lbs.......

I met a guy with a turbo Integra making over 500 to the wheels, the problem is most of your FWD cars cannot put that power down, race them from a standstill and you'll eat them alive, well until they catch back up to you. Do not race these guys from a roll. They will destroy you.

Yep, Supras are known to be able to make 1000+hp, but that's a far cry from an integra. It's much easier to do with the engine in the supra.

I had a good friend when I lived in Texas who had an integra very similar to mine, when he started anyway. He put the supercharger, and the suspension, limited slip, brakes, all that. He gave the BMW M3 guys all they wanted and then some on the track. Fun, fast car. Problem with big power in a front driver though

I don't care how much power it makes - having big tires on the front wheels ALWAYS looks stupid and makes me laugh. I don't care how fast it goes. It looks ridiculous.

Also guys that put high-downforce wings on FWD cars. Cracks me up. Don't they realize they're decreasing the traction to the steering (and drive) wheels? I'm sure that's real good for cornering at high speeds.

LOL!

Tom had big tires on the front and back, don't think he was all that concerned about how fast it went straight, more how it would stop and corner. He had similar power to the M3's, but was lighter and would outbrake and corner them. The suspension on the integras is the best thing about them, never understood the guys trying to turn them into drag cars.

Somewhere I have a picture of a Pontiac 6000, blue with bald tires and a "Type R" sticker. Laughed my way along for several more miles after seeing that on the freeway one day.

My brother does a lot of illegal street racing. He currently uses a Nissan 200 SX. It is the turbo model with originally 200 bhp. So far with a little tinkering of his own, he has got some 320 bhp out of it. A friend of his have the same model and with further modification he recieves just about 480 bhp. Ridiculous IMO.

If anybody has 45#s of boost on a stock anything, I wanna watch when the hit the gas. I hope he has a basket under the engine. I hear all this crap about how indestructible rice burners are but they seem to break a lot with 20 or so pounds of boost. No surprise. Top Fuel runs 60 something pounds of boost. You can count on one hand the number of street cars with over 30 #s of boost & you better not have a buffoon behind the wheel. This car has about 30.

You never know what you are facing nowadays. Just about anything can be made fast.

This is the quickest street car (or race car) that I have ever ridden in. Car has run 9.20's and 150+ mph......but never on the same pass. If it would go straight, it would be a solid 8 second street car. (must have something to do with the stock VW suspension and brakes......)

Big VW air cooled flat 4. Runs on methanol with a giant ball-bearing turbo and a huge shot of nitrous. Nicknamed the Devils Hot Rod, the car ironically made 666HP to the ground this month WITHOUT THE SPRAY!!!!!

It will light up the tires at 100 mph on the street. I rode in it once - never again!

I was having a drink in Chattanooga one Monday evening when a guy walks in with a NOPI shirt. I had just come back from Bowling Green with a friend's 1800 hp Super Street Outlaw Mustang. I ask the NOPI dude wheres the closest NOPI event. Nashville, he says. I say, how fast are the streetable classes going? 7's, he responds. I say I meant, in the quarter mile, not the eighth. He states that he meant the quarter, tells me that on Friday nights the import heavyweights meet right where we are, & asks if I have a car. At the time I had a 630hp, 3000 lb, car sitting in the parking lot. I say yeah, & give him a few details. He states matter of factly, "Oh V8's can't run with these imports. The V8 crowd meets at another place."

There is a guy near by me now with an 8 second Civic. It is about as streetable as the space shuttle.

At an NMRA event in Bradenton Fl, a guy shows up with a Supra with much work, 2 big turbos and spray for days. Puts it on the dyno, pulls 900+ at the wheels. Somebody comments about how fast it is. Import man stated matter of factly, "None of these Mustangs out here have anything for me." That word gets around the pits fast. Most of these guys have street racing backgrounds. Soon, a racer in the 3rd fastest class shows up on a golf cart, puts $5k on his hood & says, "come on, lets take 'em to the line! Put that in your pocket & if I win we'll settle up at the other end!" The Supra went on the trailer & Import man & his Supra left.

I'd "estimate" that my car had at least 100 hp, DECLARE that I once had her up to 43 mph, LAUGH and then walk away...why bother ?

Car guys are car guys, no matter what they drive. A real car guy appreciates a capable car, regardless of where it was built. Anyone that passes off all Japanese cars as "rice" is a fool, soon to have his a$s handed to him on a track. Going fast for cheap, Japanese turbo sports cars are the American muscle car, 40 years later.

You find the "check writer" type in any circle. God knows there's plenty of Porsche owners that fit into that mold.

I had some sideways-hat, baggy-pants jackass come up to me at a gas station when I had my 951 one time looking to start some schit. He had a bondo-ed up Civic or some other similar POS and starts in with "hey man is that car fast"? (I responded by saying "depends who's asking"). Finally he asks me if I want to follow him and we can race 0-60. I responded by saying that street racing is for *********s but if he wants to meet me at Willow Springs some weekend I'd be happy to race him 0-160. He just slinked off.

Who breeds these people, anyway?

I've had this conversation w/ import guys before. They take a fwd 4cyl, apply some technology, race a stock Mustang & think they are fast. A guy I know bought a stock 2003 Cobra new, replaced the stock blower with a Kennee Bell unit, added a chip & an x pipe, drove it to work every day & ran low 9's on drag radials. Any way you slice it, a 4 cyl is half a V8.

Actually, youhave to give the Sport Compact guys more credit than that. Many of the hard core racers get more power per CI than any production based V8's. So in a way they are more than half a v8

I pulled out of our local grocery store a couple of weeks back. The light went to yellow as I was passing though the intersection. The mighty 2.0T was wailing away behind me when I looked in my rear view mirror. A mid-80's 300ZX came screaming up behind me. He had pulled out behind me and absolutely blew the red. "Dumb ass" I think as he pulls up along side. He wants to go so I hammer the Mighty 2.0T up through third. I pull away and at the next light he pulls up, rolls down is window and asks if it's a Turbo....I guess the 911T badge must have fooled him. I informed him he was just beat sensless by a 38 year old bone stock 2.0L T.

Yes, he had the fart can and no, he did not attempt it again.

Last week a guy with an R34 (6 cyl + sick turbo) handed it to me (V8 + supercharger) at Brands Hatch. It was just a track day, his car was track prepared whilst mine is completely stock....

Still my car is putting out close to 530 rwhp.... and it is no slouch.

Yet he was pulling away from me...

Yes the track was more suited to a 4x4,... i didnt want to push etc... Still it was a very well sorted car, possibly pushing 600-650 rwhp and was driven right...

I would not dismiss them so lightly...
