magazine disconnect = pistol will not fire if magazine removed.

Idea is that someone ejects magazine and thinks pistol then can't fire, so he pulls trigger and pistol fires. Something that shouldn't happen if user follows gun safety rules, but people do make stupid mistakes, so there is arguably some safety benefit.

The downside, if any, is equally arguable. Some argue the mechanism interferes w/ getting a really smooth trigger pull or with reliability, depends on the design I suppose. Others argue it makes a "tactical reload" more dangerous, I suspect these are mall ninjas talking.

I have read that some police departments require this feature, idea apparently being that if criminal is wrestling the cop's gun away, the cop can press the magazine release and dump the magazine, criminal holding a non-functional pistol is shot with the back-up gun. No read how realistic that is.

"nice" for gun manufacturers = reduces supply of pistols from outside of CA so increases prices in CA.

Always nice when it is harder for consumers to buy used products, if you're the company trying to sell new products. Imagine how much Detroit would like it if we couldn't easily buy used cars. The lab testing costs something, I think that is tougher on the little manufacturers than on the big ones.

That would be "Nice" for dealers, except that they will sell fewer. It also costs the manufacturer a signifcant amount of money to have the test done for each gun, every 2 years.

The question to ask is "What is the REAL reason politicians want to ban all guns"? Could it be they don't trust the people? Could it be they want total power and control? NAW! couldn't happen in this country! President Hillary will follow the lead Hugo established for his "democratic" country.

What was it Hitler did in Germany? Just how did a total nut case establish total control? Democrats in this country, wait "so called Democrats" usually called communists by most people, want to to the exact same thing here. They only difference is who they want to kill. Real Democrats are cowards, hiding, afraid to call out what they plainly see happening, the communist takeover of their party and our country.
