I like in the description:

"Will give a lifetime of use."

So, just in case you're worried whether or not this cannon will hold up to the rigorous use you're gonna put it to at your shooting parties, bored drunken weekends, etc.

I liked "Fires a 2 lb. ball out of sight, . . ."

Simple and to the point. That's all one needs to know.

Where does a fellah go to buy cannon balls, nowadays?

I can't imagine knocking on doors, asking for them back!

I wonder what would happen if you tossed a big bag of pennies in there.

Most modern black powder cannons are bored to shoot standard soup cans. Just fill 'em up with concrete and let then set up. They are the cannon equivelent of a wadcutter, making scoring cannon matches easier. They shoot at bed sheet size targets at whatever range is available.

There is a forge in Idaho that still makes virtually every Civil or Napoleonic war field piece ever made. There are several folks who can make the carriage for them. You would really be surprised how many of these are out there in the hands of history buffs, like Civil War re-enactors. I have had the chance to crew on several of them; it really is a lot of fun. Very disciplined procedures to keep from blowing up your crew.

The most expensive part is the powder. These things take pretty big gulps of the stuff. I know a couple of guys that started playing with making their own; it is really pretty simple. But, without proper controls and experience, a little too hairy for me. Or, in the end, these guys. Even the established plants still have accidents, with the GOEX plant having gone up a couple of times in the last decade alone.

I've played with the bowling ball mortar as well. Kind of cool for a shot or two, but the cannons are much more fun.

I bought a new, 4" diameter, canon barrel, bore brush a few years ago. It also has a screw on bore swab tip.

A good friend of mine(a surveyor-they're all a little different..) has a cannon they use in those Civil War re-enactments. Each year they have a meet in Northern VA, and when they come back up, they load up the pickup with cans of powder! How would you like to pass that on I81! i

Here's another one...mine as a matter of fact. It will shoot a 16lb Brunswick over 800 yards and out of sight vertically on about 500 gr of BP. Bowling balls are really pretty easy to find cheap....

Load it with a bore size plywood 'wad' and a bucket of golf balls and.....well, you get the picture.
